Assassin's Creed Origins Review "Buy, Wait for Sale, Rent, Never Touch?"

Am I the only one that wants the characters to speak their native tongue? I mean I understand it from a gameplay perspective but it kinda draws me out of my immersion when I hear people from ancient Egypt speaking a language that wasn't even around then.

have patches improved this game at all? I'm playing Odyssey right now and I'm having a blast. How does this game compare? How is the ai? post patches?

So, ACG, do I have to play the predecessors to get the overall story? And can I play that mostly in Stealth mode?

Is it just me or does this feel like a semi reboot to the series?

So im guessing Odyssey is better to pick up before this one in terms of overall enjoyment? I like the Egyptian scenario better than Greece personally but it seems more enjoyment is to be had in Odyssey. Anybody have an opinion to share on which is better to play first?

AC Odyssey is extremely more difficult Origins. There are some things that Origins had that maybe Ubisoft left out intentionally to make things more of a challenge or instance targeting enemy ships when the ship was in range to be hit in Origins the white guide would turn red it stays white in Odyessey making harder to tell when you have the ship within striking distance.

A game set in the Middle East.....

I wanted to like this game. I gave it several tries but for me is just boring. Production values are top notch, sound, graphics, design... but fun isn't there. Combat system is all about smashing buttons, every item, quest, character looks generic to me... I think I should come back to witcher 3 and play it again

Picked it up for 20 not a bad game so far. I'm not a huge fan of UBI's color pallet, but this game has been entertaining.

The story is ONE OF THE BEST of all assassin's games. A dislike for you bitch

normaly i dont like assasins creed games , but i understood they changed some things here and there . so bought the game cause i was curious , and the egypt setting was apealling too. im fucking glad i did, this game is so amazing.. and the discovery tours are awsome. its like a living museum , you follow a line and at certain points a voice pops up and acting as a tour guide, about architecture, every day life , nature and geo .. and there 75 different tours. you can see how long each tour is..

Which one do you reccomend ac origins or ac odyssey?

I have this on my shelf collecting dust and I haven't even played it yet 🙁

I think both DLCs had very good stories imo, so if you’re looking for story look for those DLCs.
I also liked the base game story, I thought it was interesting, but that’s just me

The ubisoft forums are not working, the Assassin's Creed Odyssey is broke and there is no way to report a problem I'm having for 2 days now. Wtf is wrong with people!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The discussion forums I spend 20 minutes typing out a nice message to explain the problem and then it says submit and it makes you pick out all the cars in the picture all the buses in the picture and then it says post I hit post that goes back to more pictures of the crosswalk at the pictures with the crosswalk and then you complete that and it says post review you hit the button to post the thread and then the more pictures come up at all the airplanes in the picture what is this Insanity absolute Insanity can't even post the thread without getting caught in a loop!!!!!!!!!!!

The problem I'm having is....

Mercenaries not clearing and sponsors not displaying on the map...

I know I'm not posting this in the correct place because the Forum won't let me log in the page stays blank so I'm not able to start a new thread.

So the problem I'm having is a for 2 days now I have two red skulls indicating I have two mercenaries after me. I've killed multiple sponsors, the two red helmets do not go away!!

Now, I have no sponsors left to kill, the two red helmets won't clear, so I'm stuck with two mercenaries always on my tail.

With no way to get rid of them, idk what to do. I've hidden places for hours, to get rid of the two red helmets, that's not working, there's no sponsor on the map for me to kill, and I'm at a loss, I don't know what to do.

I don't know if it's a bug, if the game is broke and it's not giving me the option to pay the Bounty, so I'm at a absolute complete loss. I don't know what to do any suggestions??

Is there a place in the menu to track a Sponser or is looking at the map the only way??

I really didn’t like This game

Great review! Played about 35 hours and couldn't beat the "snake" and had to pop over and finish God of War. The visuals are amazing but to put a "cold stop" in the middle of the game (can't move forward or past) made no sense. I know most folks can do it with ease but I was playing full Warrior and Ubisoft sticks a boss that requires hunter skills out of the blue remains puzzling. I'm 70 years old and enjoying the game up till that point. I'm done with Ubisoft games. Anyway thanks again for the great work!

I've really enjoyed it so far. As a completionist there's a decent amount to do but it's not overwhelming.

Correct me if I'm wrong, do you (I mean anyone reading this) believe you can skip Rogue, Unity and Syndicate and miss nothing?

my first assassin creed game and boy do i love it. Having played witcher 3, the exploration part is amazing and combat better..... ive been longing for a huge beautiful open world similar to witchers 3 and this is it

I'm confused about the comment regarding Unity being bugged. I just did a complete playthrough of Unity and didn't encounter a single noticeable bug.

Thanks for the review. I just bought Odyssey on sale last week in PS store for $20. Today this game just went on sale in PS store. Base game $14.99. Gold edition with he DLCs is only $24.99. I'm trying to decide if I will get base or with the DLCs. I love good story. I'm checking vids to see if the DLCs are worth it. I don'y normally get DLCs in games unless they are cheap GOTY edition of older games.

Playing on hard is kinda frustrating. You have no chance of killing an enemy that is even 2 levels above, the only ways to reliably level up are the side missions which bore me to the point i just want to go to sleep. The world is amazing but the combat gets really annoying once youre in a 4v1 and more. And that happens alot cause it seems like all the guards join in. I was trying to run away once since i was getting gangbanged. Wherever i went even more guards start chasing me. It was insane.

one of the few reviews where your conclusion (buy, wait for sale, never touch) differed from mine. Glad I bought and played....that being said, I knew more or less what I was getting into because your reviews are far more than just the personal recommendation at the end. Great work as always!

Is it bad one of my main reasons for buying this game is for the discovery mode.
