Was rewatching this dragon ball Kai and got to this scene and was waiting for this epic spec only for it to be completely botched in Kai. This speech with vegetas theme music by Bruce falcuner was amazing, and you felt the suspense with it. Definitely not the same without it. SS3 is another one that had an amazing sound track in the Bruce F. version.

Im sorry but Vegeta is willing to risk his family, earth, everything for his pride as a warrior? Naw that ain't it man.

When Vegeta delivers the last line and then it drops into his theme is iconic

I love Goku during this scene funny enough, he turned into Kakarot here. He knows a fight is coming, and he would never run away from one because deep down he’s a saiyan stubborn, violent saiyan just like Vegeta

Sabat’s performance as Majin vegeta is amazing

Every time I’m in the gym struggling, I pretend the weights are Guka, and I recite this monologue! Works every time.

Incredible how the Dub taking liberties with the dialogue instead of being faithful to the source material makes this moment FAR MORE badass than it actually is.

First half of the buu saga is pure perfection. Gohans character arc having a satisfying turn where he gets to continue doing what he likes + fight for justice and what’s right (like a super hero)

And of course vegetas character arc coming full circle. Only thing that’s missing is his last speech where he acknowledges that chasing strength to surpass someone (Goku) is what’s holding him back

If Dragon Ball Super had embraced a cooler and more badass vibe with a touch of violence, gore, dark elements, and a better storyline, it could have become the perfect anime.

Watching Kai. They did not do this part any justice. It wasn't even half impactful.

Moments like this made the Buu arc my favorite in Z. Vegeta's speech is iconic and the emotional resonance of his lines remains impactful no matter how many times I watch this scene. And this scene really makes me appreciate the emotional maturity Goku had at this point in Z. We can see Goku is furious, but he is not explosive in his anger. He stands there and listens to every word Vegeta has to say without challenging any of it verbally. In that way he gives validation to what Vegeta has expressed while simultaneously making it known that Vegeta's inner turmoil doesn't justify the random murder of several hundred people who have nothing to do with their rivalry. That silence from Goku somehow says everything, especially when we see him charging up his ki to potentially kill the Supreme Kai when he stands between him and Vegeta later on. Such a great scene that says so much with only a small bit of dialogue. It's always a treat to revisit it.

Goku: Stop it, 'Getes! This isn't like you, you're not a bad guy!
Vegeta: Since WHEN?! When, on this WORTHLESS EARTH, DID I EVER BECOME A QUOTE-UNQUOTE "GOOD GUY"?!
Gohan: You were at Krillin's barbecue last week!
Vegeta: Yeah, and I brought potato salad.
Goku: He is truly lost to us.

Freaky that they are still people spectating and hearing them...the dragon balls removed memories of buu but not this

From his first appearance in DBZ to current episodes, I look back and see just how much his character has developed over the years. There is a reason why more people, as they get older, say Vegeta is their favorite.

If anyone should be mad or pissed about anything it should be Goku. Vegeta and the hierarchy Saiyans judged him to be a low class warrior before even seeing what he could become (but they died) and now Vegeta always expects something from Goku when Goku should really expect an apology from Vegeta for judging him to never think he could be on Vegetas level (basically a poverty Saiyan) when really he surpassed him in strength and whits (as hard as that is to believe cus Goku is dumbass but DBZ Goku has his moments of maturity. Like Goku pleading to spare Vegetas life for one and ultimately being right about him) Goku is the definition of an underdog because he wasn’t born as some heir to the throne prophecy child who should rightfully be the first super saiyan to the saiyans like Vegeta thought he should have. Goku was just gonna be another guy to the saiyans but really he ended up being their greatest warrior of their race. I always found Vegeta annoying growing cus I hated jealous mfs. But as an adult I love him now! His arc is one of the best in anime imo and he deserves his moment now

Where can I watch DBZ with the Bruce score ??

Vegeta could not bare the thought of goku being stronger than him. Vegeta would rather die than live one more moment as his second. He MUST fight him, he MUST beat him at any and all cost.

He doesnt hate him, he hates that hes stronger than him, he doesnt want to kill him, he just needs to win.
