To those who don't understand, In some countries partners are not use to hear their real name.
That's why it feels weird and disrespectful if your partner calls you by your first name.

It's kinda like kids calling their parents by their names and not mum and dad. Even though their's nothing wrong with that.

When my husband said my name, I completely ignored him until he said "honey" or "baby". When be asked why I was ignoring him, I told him that there was no one here by that name. 😅

There's nothing weird or illogical about it, this is how they identify the "being special" for their lover. Some use water and some use paper, though the latter is practiced majorly around the globe, and the first is practiced by Asians, which happens to be more hygienic, but that doesn't mean both practices are wrong or one is superior to the other. Stop labeling people according to what suits you, society is not you, you are a part of the society, and coexistence is the mantra.

Honestly I'd be more concerned if someone never called me by my name. Everyone they've ever been with has been called "babe" or "baby" or any of the other common pet names, but I'd like for them to call me by my specific name every so often because in a sense it shows me they want to be with me specifically. Not sure if what I wrote conveys exactly what I mean, but I think it's important to use each other's names every so often.
