No one wants to mention how nasty of a BR that Pistola & Legit actually had in the pro circuit. Most of the guys had their accounts hacked quite frequently, so they couldn't do ranked lobbies with better players as practice at home. Most of them just dropped off entirely once the younger crowd moved in & started sweeping up the old talent. I have to admit, though. A guy that inspired me to start going pro, I ended up watching his replays one time. He got matched up against Str8Rippin & got utterly destroyed by them. That's when the entire Halo 3 community started turning sweaty, & I quit playing. I moved over to MW2 for 7 years

I remember the video that was uploaded that had the guy that was hacking all of their accounts, & he was playing under their Gamertags. Eventually even Snipedown had his shit stolen from him. I remember when things got too heated, so you had teams that changed way too frequently. When it came to real talent. It was anyone that could go in with a BR & overpower everyone with power weapons, & never missed a 4-shot during a single match. Lived & died by their grenades & went positive regardless of how bad their team was. That's why I mention Legit & Pistola. I never recalled those guys ever going negative during a pro circuit match

Anyway, old times are dead. Most of these guys are way past their prime, & are working day jobs... Halo 3 was peak FPS in my opinion along with MW, but MLG was beyond toxic for the most part. It squeezed all of the fun out of the community. I never really thought the Ogre's were any good, but I heard that they absolutely destroyed matchmaking~

Damn… Miss the good ol Halo days. Ogre 2 was the absolute GOAT. Not only that, both he and his brother are good guys, too. Both forever Legends in the Halo community. STK, Team 3D, Final Boss, whatever they went by, they dominated. However, I’m really surprised to see Karma not in the top 10.

I remember the days of being swamped by Ogre 2. He never showed mercy. All the boys Walshyyyy, Tsquared, Naded, Roy, Snipedown...Wow life has moved so fast. Miss private lobbies

Final Boss will forever be the best Esports team name ever. It's not even close they lived up to the name to a T. No one else could call themselves the final boss of a tournament and you cant do anything about it no matter what.

I don't care how many players come close or even surpass his records. The OGRES were and are the greatest Halo players of all time. It's undeniable. Especially in Halo CE it was something to witness in person. I stood behind him and watched OGRE 2 play a FFA on derelict and he had a rough start, was 7th and 20 kills behind the leader. I thought, "wow is he really going to not advance to the next round?" He then proceeds to just stop pushing top mid and go on running riot after running riot on the bottom of the map and goes on to win the game with highest kills, assists, and least deaths. It was literally like watching magic happen. Although my career never really took off unfortunately, they inspired me to try to become pro. It wasn't the best idea for me in 2003 when there was no money in Halo esports, but I wouldn't trade it for the world. All hail the GOATS of Halo!

I played against this guy in a Halo CE tournament in Nashville back in 2004/2005. Don't get me wrong, I was good, very solid with the pistol. I think our team finished 8th or 9th place. When we faced him in a team match it was insane how good Ogre1 and especially Ogre2 were. It didn't feel fair.

Had a friend who ran the circuit and would always run customs in h2 and I ended up in a custom lobby with some of these guys. It was always wild to watch my friends gamer tag pop up in the ogre montages. I was in the lobby with him a single time and naded and they played a such a higher level that it warped my mind at the time.

I dont know if this series is in a particular order, if it is, Snipedown & Walshy not being top 5 is wild

I remember playing them on halo1 through a computer system we called Xbox connect.

Ogres all the way! I'm sad I never got to meet em. Beat Killer N's team at every local Houston tournament with my 3 older brothers in Halo 1. Never got to go to MLG due to our parents, but I placed #2 in Head to head online right behind Karma in H2 rankings (before the standbyers and modders). I would have loved going up against the best. But it's been awesome to see the best dominate everyone. Ogres will never be topped. Especially Ogre 2.

Ogre2 is Halo GOATed. The best Console FPS player of all time, however, is Matthew Piper. Formal won LAN world championships on 2 different franchises. Was the best player on the best COD team of all time and now is on a 3 LAN repeat in Halo Infinite.

The ogre brothers in my opinion truly were the epidemy of pro gaming players. I am lucky enough to have been around to witness their careers. It was amazing, and you could never not like them. They came onto the scene in the mid 2000's a very notoriously toxic online environment. If you are under 20 years old you would go crying to your mental health professional. Online gaming at scale was really only just taking off, the internet was the wild west, you could do and say what you wanted with almost zero recourse, moderating technology just wasn't up to the task. The ogre brothers were competitors sure, but they were never shitheads. You have never seen such an utter talent gap between professional gaming peers. Maybe its the Tiger Woods effect of just being so good so early in gaming's online and professional scene just being leagues ahead of other pros map knowledge, control, and especially raw mechanical speed and accuracy. It really took YEARS for people to catch up.

I was fortunate enough to mix it up with Tom on Halo several times. My craziest memory was on Pit: I grabbed sword and moved back to guard my friend on our snipe town. While moving down the ramp, I saw Ogre about to enter the lift, so I figured I would ninja his ass. Nope.

Not only did he backsmack my friend, but he nabbed the sniper from his corpse, turned, and no-scope bulltrued me coming up the lift. It was the most unbelievable play I have and will ever see, and I was honored to be killed in such a fashion.

Forever the GOAT for any who matter.
