I just got a couple of these, disappointed straight away so I just tore it down to look inside at the setup. The fan pulls air in then pushes it over the heater element then exists through 4 tiny slots only millimeters away from the fan intake hole. That seems odd its going to recycle the exit air straight back in the intake. Noisy fan and disappointed it has no timer or even a temp gauge in the $1 hygrometer. I think a glorified pos plastic box, very low tech no airflow design. I bought it on the recommendation of another channel and see he has pulled his affiliate discount link as has been getting complaints these don't work so I would say keep your money. Maybe you should have cracked it open Jim, a hammer would have been appropriate

Waht does it matter what we think about it when you couldn't even tell us if it works and is any good?!?!?
Yer the one doing the review, but you didn't test it.
Idiot.

Interesting video, but I really wish you had taken the time to get a timelapse. If it didn't work the first time, then maybe do it again with a different filament. Also, it would have been nice to see your second desiccant pack test. I don't want to go find your social media. It is frustrating to see a video that has one incomplete test and mentions a different test that isn't included.

Hygrometer not hydrometer.

It would've been better if you printed something without drying it and compared it to an identical print after drying it. Then we could see if it actually does work or not.

um that fan is pushing air in and thats bad you need sealed you need to heat the filament first have a opening then plug it and let dessacant keep it dry sucking in air from outside is not really helping

Used this exact dryer for about a month. Took me that same month to figure out that the spool holder is very much questionable. It’s just a piece of plastic. No bearings, nothing. If you print while drying it might be a very bad idea. At least in my case the fit was so tight that it cased periodic under extrusions and quite a bit of skipping…Switching to Sunlu now.

If it's like their other products I will avoid it, purchased 2 of their 3 products and had problems with both. Eibos replied to an email, said they knew that they had a problem with their product and would fix it. then nothing, totally ignore emails. Better off trying another brand.

Maybe get a shot glass and measure out 2 grams of water that way we can see how much 2 grams actually is

So if any of you guys have both the Easdry and Cyclops, which one do you prefer? The only negative of the Cyclops I heard was the clicking relays. So now I'm not sure which one to get.

Seen a couple of these dryers now, not uncommon to remove only a couple of grams of moisture out of the filament BUT it makes a BIG difference to the print. Grab another old roll, do a small print, dry it for 6hs minimum then print the same print again and it'll be much cleaner🙂👍

I have the Cyclops, and I can say without a doubt it is incredible at what it does. My only complaint is that I wish it shipped with plugs for the holes. A few short prints later and I'm good to go now. This looks great for single filament spools.

I fail to see how this was an analysis or a test...

How about testing a roll before and after? Trying to identify if quality changes in a print... Vs... some vague discussion about grams.

The title of your community post says you removed 8 grams yet in this video you say 2 grams...

Which is it?

I made a solid walnut enclosure for my Prusa MK3s+ with lexan sides and door. A walnut cabinet under it for supplies. And on top of the enclosure I made a drying box that uses a Nesco Gardenmaster dehydrator. Nothin like makin it all look classy. LOL

I've got a dehydrator with some printed PETG sides that can dry up to 3 rolls at a time. It's great. Cost me about 20 bucks for the dehydrator on sale and like 5 bucks worth of petg.

Can you try a before and after drying filament printing test to see what affect it has on printing. If you have nylon then that would be best because nylon is a very hygroscopic material. More than PETG. We use a desiccant drying system to dry our materials where I work. We use a moisture analyzer to test materials. There's a very significant difference between properly dried material and undried. The popping that you see in filaments is the same you see in injection molding. There is popping and drooling of material from the nozzle. There are also visual marks on the parts we mold. Thanks for the video.

I'm sure it's just me but;

Anytime I go to a product page and find that I have to click the buy button in order to see the price;

I figure the product is so far overpriced that the seller is embarrassed by it.

This is the curse of doing stuff like this in winter up here. Even indoor humidity tends to be super low, and cheap hygrometers aren't likely to be accurate even in the middle of their measurement range, let alone the extremes. It's definitely worth a before & after Benchy if you've got another roll of filament that's been out a while.

I’ve been using this dryer & like it a lot. However, I still hope that we get something with better build quality, Desiccant has helped a lot. It would have been nice to see print quality & know more about the spools you chose to dry.

You could test a half roll that's on a clear spool -- then you could stick the hydrometer in there and see it? Even if the roll didn't really "need" to be dried, you could see what the humidity levels are.
