Why not crown that tooth? Side fillings are weaker fillings than a filling on top of the tooth.

While saving tooth structure is important, so is longevity of the restoration.

A crown is by far a very strong restoration with an average life span of 8-13 years and potentially longer should you take care of it.

i have cavities like that rn bc today i went to the dentist checkup and they told me i have cavities vut i dont have money to pay for it😢

I've always had cavity prone teeths and with depression and the lack of selfcare it has given me, its become worse. I'm trying to work on my "what's the point" mentality and I think this channel might just help me with it hopefully

huh i have 5 fillings and its never been as fancy as this lol, for me its just straight numb, drill, put in filling then you go home and cant eat for a few hours and it hardens on its own no fancy stuff.

Is it painful?

Guys trust me, I was scared like you to get fillings and I just had mine done yesterday at 9am and I can honestly say it did not hurt one bit. They give you a shot and the amazing thing is that you literally don’t feel the shot at all!!!! Word of advice is to put your AirPods in and listen to music and just keep your mouth open or just do what I did and ask for a mouth block and just relax your face and listen to music

I just finished my dentist appointment, and I got curious about the process. It doesn’t hurt, but sometime you can feel a tickling feelings, and when they drill it feels like a car or airplane engine is playing full blast in both my ears. But the process in the end is worth it.

It definitely helps to know the details - I chose to have my music in to distract myself, so they didn't really talk to me except to give specific instructions, like the bite paper.

So question I have a fear of needles will I actually feel pain from the needle

Just got three fillings today, jaw is a little sore but other than that, I had a great appointment! It was my second time being at the dentist since I was little, and I was pretty surprised that I only needed three fillings.

Whu dont theu use disposable drills? Very un hygenic 3rd world..

I don't want to be that guy, but I think my dentist messed up my filing. I don't think he set the matrix correctly and left in a lot of over hangs. When I got home today and tried flossing the floss shredded.

I Hate The Drill Sound and The Shot.

Quick question please...why would the dentist check my bite after filling a cavity near the bottom of my gum line ? Logic tells he was no where near the top of the tooth with the drill so the bite would Not be affected in any way...

Have to do a filling soon, am dreading it. Have had so many and they all sucked and were painful. It doesn’t help that I’m terrified of needles and anesthesia doesn’t hit me good so last time it took them 4 shots to get me slightly numb and even then I felt pain. They were frustrated and I was in pain and terrified. God help me.
