I've been looking for deals on FB every day for over a month now because my brother has been wanting a bike, and I knew that Christmas would be propping up prices a bit and I was anticipating a mild dip afterwards. A couple days ago, I ended up finding a Giant Talon in his size listed for $125 in basically brand new condition. He picked it up and it really is basically unridden. Shifts like a dream, the brakes work and the tires are still fresh.

The moral of the story is that sometimes you just need to be consistent and have patience in order to get a deal.

A good time to buy a new bike is around the end of the year when there are lots of sales. I bought my dream bike for 2k less than what it costs normally!

I have seen people reselling used bikes man. It's ridiculous. My area has a lot.of people doing that and asking too much. I'm still trying to find good deals.

I have lived with a mtb with coil forks for over 4 years now, i don't know why but hated every second on it. Now I just rent a good hard tail when ever I go to a trail and use my bike just to ride on the road with the fork simply locked out.

Just a fyi, the suntour fork is perfectly fine for downhill in my opinion. It’s what’s on my trek. but suntour does have a yellow sticker on the fork stating not to use it for downhill or any kind of jumping🤦🏽‍♂️. Probably because of the plastic fork tube caps

I rode one of those GTs for a while before upgrading. They aren't bad at all.

I literally just a few days ago picked up a carbon frame Niner Rip 9 for 550 dollars...literally just needed brake pads and the rear brake bled. I cannot believe I own this bike for the money I paid, its like a dream. its my first full suspension bike and I had been looking at them for years and found this its like my dreams were answered.

My buddy is in school so doesn’t have a lot of extra cash but wants to get into mountain biking. I’ve been looking for MONTHS for a deal like this and still haven’t found anything. The issue I am having is: the medium sizes are hard to come by because they go really fast around here OR what’s in this price point is absolute junk and I’d put as much into fixing it up as it would cost to just buy a new bike for him OR like others have mentioned, people want much more than the bike is worth to begin with.

Funny enough, the day before you posted this, I found a used but near mint Release 3 about 15 minutes from the house. Guy wanted $1400 and threw in a BUNCH of extra stuff like a repair stand, road wheels, tools, bleed kits and a big jug of Slime! And it fit me perfect! Too good to pass up! Not to mention the guy is cool as hell.
