I don't know if people are hearing exactly this from online experts though the fear-based, deficit based marketing is rampant. I think it is people interpreting legitimate discourse around trauma in a fear-based, fragile, and somewhat narcissistic way. The culture has not set us up for mature and regulated adults because we have privileged youth and immediate gratification.
