Orpheus should’ve had some sort of physical contact, maybe even a lead of sorts to verify
Ответить“You and everyone like you shall live in the shadows!”
Hey NB people how’s the shadows?
Wasn’t Aya the Babylonian statue crumbled in front of the Ark of the Covenant in the Old Testament Bible.

ОтветитьSaving this video to prove to my brother that I am in fact, cute. I’m non-binary so the logic is there
ОтветитьA radio play featuring the part where Orpheus walks back (with pale Eurydice behind him) was spooky when I was a kid.
ОтветитьKaizo Trap's history goes back thousands of years
ОтветитьI love how down for all things fashion your Hades is!
ОтветитьI love this video! So much fun!
ОтветитьCursing Asu-shu-namir and all enbies to millennia of discrimination oppression and violence automatically makes Erishkigal more evil than all depictions of Hades put together.
ОтветитьIzanagi yelling "I think we should see other people" while covering the entrance to the underworld with a BIG-@SS HONKIN BOULDER is peak comedy.
ОтветитьAs a non-binary person: LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
ОтветитьGlad to know the queen of the underworld thinks I’m hot.
ОтветитьI can't believe the reason that society hates me is because a Babilonian dude had to get a Godess of fertility out of the underworld and got cursed because of it. WHERE IS MY GIFT OF PROFECY DAMN IT!

ОтветитьBabylonians had some really interesting myths for being over 4000 years old
ОтветитьFor some reason, this video isn't in the Miscellaneous Myths playlist. I had to look it up separately once i realized. There might be other ones missing, but this is the only one i noticed due to it getting referenced in a few other ones
Ответить"If you're non-binary, you're magic, Ishtar loves you and even the queen of the underworld thinks you're cute"
That's true, speaking from experience
Wah wah queer representation. No. There's more than enough of that on TV. WAY more than enough.
ОтветитьHindu mythology has a really interesting underworld myth...
(Disclaimer: there are way too many versions of this story, if you know a different one please don't come for me. Also I'm only tellingyou the crux, if you want details, please google Savitri and Satvahan )
Savitri is a princess who goes out in search of a husband. She comes across Satvahan, and instantly falls in love with him. The thing is, he is an exiled prince living as a hermit, his father is a blind king who was wrongfully removed from his throne and Satvahan is destined to die in a year. But Savitri refuses to change her decision. They happily get married and live in the forest. After a year lord Yama, the god of death himself comes to collect Satvahan's soul. But Savitri is determined and keeps on following him. Though her feet bleed and she almost dies herself coz of hunger and thirst, she does not stop and follows Yama to the gates of the underworld. He becomes impressed with her devotion and tells her that she can ask for anything from him, except Satvahan's life. She replies that she wishes that her father in law is able to see her and Satvahan's children play in his palaces. Since she technically wished according to Yama's rules he obliges and gives her Satvahan's soul back. They return to the kingdom and rule for many more years together.
that was quick
ОтветитьOne version of the Orpheus story actually has a happy ending. Eurydice still has to go back to the underworld but Orpheus also killed by the Maenads and he and Eurydice live happily ever after in the underworld.
ОтветитьThere's a sky goddess named... nut?
ОтветитьIs a video of hekate, goddess of witchcraft and necromancy, a possibility?
ОтветитьThe first version of the osirus myth (is that how u spell his name) they concived horus (again idk the spelling) after he was revived and before he went to the underworld not that big a difference but whatever
Ответить"proxy feels", snerk
ОтветитьThere’s this Hindu myth as well, but it’s not entirely underworld, but it does follow the same troupe. I think it goes something like this:
There’s this princess named Savitri who doesn’t want to get married to anyone, and then she meets this man named Sathyavan who is not a royal and they fall in love and get married. Before their marriage, Narada warns Savitri that Satyavan only has one year left to live, but Savitri ignored this. Fast forward a year and they’re living happily until Yama, the god of death shows up and grabs Satyavan’s soul. Savitri sees this and chases Yama through the tough terrain on her bare feet. Shocked by her actions, Yama grants her a wish, but that wish cannot be to have Satyavan back. Savitri wishes for her father in law to get his vision back cuz he’s blind. Savitri gets her wish, but she keeps following Yama. Annoyed, but intrigued, Yama grants her another wish, which I forgot. Even after she got two wishes, Savitri kept following Yama. Yama said, “that’s it, you get one more wish. After that, leave me alone!” And Savitri was like “I wish to have lots of children” and Yama grants her wish, but Savitri says, “how will I have kids if Satyavan is dead? Hindu widows can’t remarry.” Yama, impressed with Savitri’s witts, released Satyavan’s soul and Savitri’s wishes happened.
Okay, I fully admit that this thought might stem from the fact I read a lot of smut, but am I the only one who thinks that any smut (or Stories about one of the more sane fetishes, for that matter) about Ishtar losing all her clothes and confronting the queen of the underworld alone practically writes itself? I mean, come on! I can’t be the only one who thought of this when watching.
ОтветитьCould you do a video of the story of Hades, Persephone and nymph named Minthe?
ОтветитьI can't help but think of the Myth of Hades and Minthe.
ОтветитьPretty sure I made this joke before, but so long ago I can't find it:
So Ishtar's the reason I get deja vu at least three times a month.
