ОтветитьI’m not a walk hater, I’m a weather hater. The thought of going outside in Canada for the next 5 months makes me cry. I freeze quite easily, even during the summer months when it’s a bit windy, cloudy, or rainy. I am never ready for the impending ice and snow that happens every year. A three month vacation is my DREAM. But right now, anything helps. Thank you.

We choose a color (say orange) and we point out everything we see that’s orange! Traffic cone, pumpkin, cat, chair, etc. It sounds silly but it’s quite entertaining 😁
I tried digital journaling for a couple days and I absolutely love it! Typing on a nice keyboard definitely does more for me than the traditional pen and paper. I hope you make a "digital journal" video one day!! I'd love advice on all the different apps and and things you can use!

ОтветитьI have another idea to share! I have been doing this for years! Each year I create my own 100 List, where I list 100 accomplishments I was to strive for in the next year. It can be as small as trying this new restaurant to I want to file my name change with the court. It helps when I feel those bored, stuck, frozen, dissociative feelings. It brings me back to the present and reminds me of what I want to do. So when those feelings arise, I pull out my list and find one I can accomplish that day, week, or month. I'll schedule me dates. I can share my lists if wanted 🌻🌻

As a certified not-walk-hater, something I introduced into my life in October was scavenger hunt walks. I'd make a list of Halloweeny items I'd look for when out on walks, looking at people's decor. But you could easily make lists that works for whatever season and area you're in, and you can make them as long or short as you want. If you want, you can even give yourself a little treat/reward for checking off all things on your list.
Also, as a side note, those sunlight lamps can be great if you get a proper one, but it DOES NOT impact vitamin D, that is NOT how you are meant to use it. Please know that this is a misconception, and if you are in a position where you need help getting your vitamins, please don't think this lamp will be the solution. By all means, use a sunlight lamp, I am not trying to say it's a scam, but it is not a replacement for other sources of vitamin D.

ОтветитьMy “sunlight lamp” makes a huge difference in my seasonal affective disorder. If you’re on the fence, get one! But make sure you use it properly, because it didn’t really work until I used it consistently and correctly. My routine: I have it right beside my bed, plugged into a smart plug. I use it as an alarm, with the time set around 6am during the week and 7am on weekends. It turns on while still laying in bed. When it goes of I place it right beside my pillow, like as close to my face as I can while not looking directly into it. Then I check the weather, read, or do the wordle on my phone, whatever, for 20-30 minutes. Then I start my day 😊. This was game changer for me, and I’d say this resolved about 80% of my SAD. I hope this helps someone ❤
