Just took my first stab at drawing anything resembling a fursona a few days ago, but didn't spend much time on the concept. I'm gonna use this guide to build a better concept, then revisit it when I've improved enough at drawing to not expect to completely screw up a design that's not completely basic.

Which could be years, drawing is a "when I feel like it" hobby and I've "felt like it" a couple dozen times over the last year, but having a goal to work towards might help me feel motivated to practice more often.

Y’know what I did? I made my cursing yellow bc it’s my fav colour, and bc it represents happiness. My fursona have Autism and PTSD, and was bullied and a bit depressed, just like me. So with the colour of happiness (yellow), it indicates that my cursing is pretending to be happy when not, bc they don’t want to be a burden and it makes them look ‘less weak’ in their eyes.

Interesting. I haven't considered a flaw but that is a good idea. Im kinda new to this. Im trying to create a fursona that is a dragon/unicorn hybrid that travels through various exotic dreamscapes. Im in the brainstorming stage right now.

I know this is so long after you posted this, but im discovering this while mid making my fursona. It's kinda funny you mentioning having a flaw, which is something that i never considered directly, but last night had thought about implementing personal flaws in my sona and it just made it come a lot more wholistic. It changes my style, my representation, my interaction, as well as just establishes my fursona as ... well me. (fwiw: playing around with the idea of a sona that has a manifested inner voice with 2 distinct personalities with their own style and representation that kinda guide me around)

.. Ive learned from this video that my fursona is completely developed.. In other words- hes completely fugured out and then some! His mother plays a big role in his past so i figured her out too

He may be figured out so well cuz of the fact i intend to make a comic of his life

I think I made a fursona by accident, because I wanted to made a sinner for Hazbin Hotel, and it ended up with my principal character being a bipede griffon, with some skeleton part for her "sins"

Hm, maybe...some sorte of griffon, whitout the skeleton part...
With big wings, maybe not really huge or big because they need to fly
But with claws, that can be a flaw with the new world we live in
Oh and inspired by the night sky !


Aaand now I want to make a new character, great, its like I have more than 35 drawing to do ;w;
