Studio album 💿 are a book 📕 📖 📚. Song title plus numbers equals 🟰 chapters and album title equal 🟰 book 📕 title and lyrics equals details. Album 💿 title equals 🟰 book 📕 📖 📚 title. In my opinion the number is a chapter which means a main division of a book, typically with a number or title while the song title is a song title more of chapter 1 leaning towards book 📕 📖 📚. For me as a listener studio album 💿 and book 📖 📕 are the same. Because both books and studio albums have a song title and a number right next to it which is book 📕 📖 📚 and chapter.

I think it's unfortunate that you felt the need to swear on this video. It's surprising and disappointing that this university would post that kind of content. Why would you stoop to the level of using profanity when you are supposed to be teaching young people? There are so many examples you could use of metaphor that would be edifying. You didn't need to go there.

Students at South Albany love the BS metaphor. One asked if that meant he could say it to his mom. Um... I also appreciate that these are made for HS students but are not patronizing in any way. I've told them-- this is how your profs will talk to you at college. Thanks!

So I remember my high school English teacher explaining to the class that a metaphor was a comparison without using 'like' or 'as'. Whereas a simile is a comparison that uses 'like' or 'as'.

Excellent literary phrase provided, but I wish you could explain the metaphor behind "our placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity." So far, I saw the placid island of ignorance as our own knowledge limitation that extends or surpasses because we could never know or learn everything (black seas of infinity)? Not everything can be explained.

Jesus is Lord. God bless. He loves and Forgives. God isn't someone who waits for your downfall, but your redemption through His Son Jesus. Repent. This may seem uncalled for but just trust the Lord. Give God a chance, not being religious but have a relationship with God. Call out to Him and try and hear His voice in your heart, He doesn’t go against His word. If you reject it, ay your choice, God gives free will. Just got to say, He has plans to prosper you not to harm you. Again ain't saying be religious, but give God a chance. God bless.

Good point about higher thinking depending on metaphors. It’s a kind mental of short cut that enables fast moving transitions and insight that literal cognition would take for ever to perform.

Hey Oregon school of Writing ! A quick question for ya: I've decided to write a Novel, or maybe a Screenplay/Script. I want to be able to use complex literary devices such as Controlling Metaphor and Allegory etc..Since this would be the optimal way to convey the message to both readers and viewers.

However, all these "tools" of literature and writing are very foreign and confusing to me, since I didn't study literature or writing academically and only grasp these intuitively, and I cannot go the academic route. So, I need a list of resources such as books, accessible for a "lay person". I'm looking for resources that will entangle the structures of Stories, as well as the Devices used in them, and will reveal to me their mechanisms, in a way that I would understand them not only Conceptually and Analytically, but also Practically so that I could begin to use them in my writing.

Should I look into Literary Theory ? Or into Rhethorics ? Or Poetics ? Or Symbology ? What field is it precisely that encompasses within it these "tools" and understandings as a whole ? Where to start, as an Independent Scholar and Practitioner ? What I've been doing so far is dissecting films and novels by analysis, deconstructing, taking notes, grouping and so forth, but I seem to lack coherency and perhaps systemization, and organizing principles. I feel like a failing detective right now.

Love your videos !
