I was on a flight out of Dublin some years ago on an A320. There was a loud bang and the plane bounced around something awful. Some of the passengers started screaming. The pilot made an announcement that there was nothing to worry about, they had an engine failure due to a bird strike and we still had the other engine and we'd be heading back to Dublin but he would have to reduce height and we'd be delayed. This had the desired effect of helping to calm the passengers down. The man next to me had his eyes closed, was clutching a Bible, and praying, that's when I noticed he was actually a Priest. I said I think we are going to be ok Father, no need for the prayers, he looked at me and in a thick Kerry accent said Bejesus, if we lose the other one we're going to be up here all day.

The one time I flew their airlines I found the stewardesses friendly and funny. Can't say that about the others

Ironically, Aer Lingus is very anti-dog and doesn’t allow dogs in cabin. To fly into Ireland with a pet in cabin you have to fly a Scandinavian airline. British Airways is the same. They’re stuck in the 20th century.

I'm not familiar with the stereotype of having dogs everywhere...including on planes - but I support it..... I'd fly Aer Lingus over any airline!

I’ve never flown air lingus, but I’ve flown Ryanair, and I was pleasantly surprised, it never had that bar running down the middle like they do in most public transit…

Oh my gosh, I was a Travel Agent in California for 25 years last century, and I'm just now seeing this skit!! No one ever said anything about this in all that time, apart from myself mentioning it once to a colleague who was unfazed, but every time I heard it or had to say it to someone my mind went there. I guess I'm not very mature. This is great!! It's good to know all that time, I wasn't the only one.

So it is just about a guy that likes dogs.
