How (and Where) to Get the Best New York Style Bagels in Wisconsin

Best bagels I've ever had in Wisc were from Bagels Forever in Madison....WAAAY back in the day! (like, the 80s) Are they still around? (get it...a ROUND?) LOL Lived for awhile in Dallas...they had an authentic NYC bagel place called (ironically) "Bagelstein's." I got so spoiled by the bagels at that place, I have never yet found a place that makes bagels as good as theirs. Of course, I've never been to NYC yet either....

You know...having watched Wisconsin Foodie for many years, and definitely every one of the episodes you've hosted, I always keep in mind all that "we" have experienced whenever you go into a new venue. It's as though we're both seeing something and sampling things together for the first time. Watching so many episodes does give one a sense of having developed an inherent expectation...as to atmosphere, personalities, and of course, the products that are featured. I haven't smelled or tasted anything in all this time, being on the other side of the screen, but I have enough life experience to know what you're looking for, and through the visuals and descriptions provided it really does amount to what may be the closest thing to having been there and taste tested everything for myself.
