Here’s Why Watch Experts Like Nico Leonard HATE Hublot (and MVMT)

I’ll never own another Invicta - advertised as being waterproof to 300 meters. It didn’t hold up in a shower :/ waste of money

The reason I’ll never own or have a Hublot on my wrist is, the one friend that has absolutely no taste in anything ever once mentioned Hublot. A bit extreme I understand, in my defence, the said friend is the kind of person that shares RIP images of celebrities that passed away on his social media for likes.

My problem is that they remind me of Floyd Mayweather, and nobody wants that.

I have a soft spot for hublot, I wanna add the classic fusion 38mm magic black to my collection. I like the case shape and bracelet

The invicta pro diver i have is built better than my rolex. Keeps time better, and its more scratch resistent than anything ive ever seen. The bracelet sucks though but thats a nitpick for this price

My mom baught me a MVMT watch a year ago and i havent had any problems.

Some of those Hublot watches are pretty hideous looking. I do like the Big Bang cases and bezels. But in general Hublot would be a no for me.

As a car guy, I think I know what Hublot were going for with the Laferrari watch (which the Ferrari logo and the Laferrari name give evidence to): it’s designed to look like an engine (loosely). Still looks ugly, but you can see what they were trying to go for

Hublot literally throws there products together, they can’t even line the screws properly and it’s so annoying.

At least Invicta started as a Swiss company and is now back in the ownership of the original family and they do have an option for a Swiss Movement now that said when they do get creative it's creatively horrifically

The Hublot thing is exactly this reason that it's a $13,000 watch with $150 bill now Nico doesn't give them credit for material use and design and they're pretty cutting-edge they were the first to make a watch from a sapphire case and other such things but in the end $15,000 for a $200 movement no matter what cases did is a bit much if you get a bye in a movement by in a jlc

I really like what Invicta represents. The brand is not for me though i do owm a Pro Diver as a beater watch for work use as it is the best value of all watches period. But i love the brand because they know who they make watches for and their audience really loves them.

I appreciate Hublot for doing something different. The watch industry isn't exactly big on trying new things and while Hublot is overpriced, at least they aren't releasing the same dive watch over and over again like most other brands do. When releasing the same watch but with a yellow dial is considered a mind blowing change, you know there's a certain level of stagnancy in the industry.

I use an Invicta Pro Diver. I work in construction I'm a crane operator and it lets me keep track of the time between gusts of wind. And at that price I'm not bothered if it gets broken.

Nope, I'm still with Nico on this one. Hublot is still Dog Shit in my opinion. There's ABSOLUTELY NOTHING special about it for the price they command. I'd rather spend my hard earned money on a Rolex or a Cartier any day, as opesed to buying an ugly Hublot piece of shit

Wearing watches should be about fun and fulfillment, not about snobism and elitism. If you like Invicta, more power to you. BTW some newer Omegas does not look that much different, big show-off pieces, bold and shiney. Far cry from the more utilitarian no-nonsnce Omegas of the past. Thats why I personaly prefer German tool watches, with Eta/Sellita movements. Companies like Sinn, Damasko, Tutima, Nomos, Nico hardly know even exists ;)

I do like Hublot. Not my favorite brand but definitely not the worst to me. I think that Nico has probably experienced a frustrating situation with it to be so angry at them. On the other hand, the fact that he wets his pants every times he talks about Casio seems suspicious to me especially since a Casio is not a watch according to watch lovers.

Hublot: Obnoxious design at already overinflated prices, at least have the courtesy of being gauche at a reasonable cost
