Great video. Great way to get back to the basics for the new subscribers coming on and good review for the long time subscribers. Way to keep your base interested. The best advice that you have given for hunting scopes is high magnification is rarely beneficial. eEven tho it is tempting to buy the 5-25 power for not much more money. Generally the lower magnification usually always has a bigger field of view which will make it easy to find your target quickly. (target acquisition) If you have a 5-25x 50 scope set on 20 power and you shoulder your gun at a 100 yard distance target you can only see 4-5' of view through the scope but on 5 power you can see up to 30' area though the scope out at a 100 yards. So for me a lower magnification scope like 2.5-10 or 3-9 power scope is always better for a hunting rifle as rarely you are shouting much past 300 yards anyway. A good quality glass scope can give you a good image out to and beyond 500 yards anyway. Additionally most calibers after 400 yards becomes more about bullet drop and wind drift anyway. On the other end of the spectrum if all you do is punch paper targets from a bench rest at long distance with no worries about the target running behind a plum thicket a high power magnification scope could be for you.

ОтветитьVery well designed and read video my friend, I have forgotten so much over the Decades about Dope and Optics and worst of all my favorite Mils. I only have one good Optic and should I try to get a backup if I happen to drop my Rifle or just change it up.? I was always Issued what I needed in the early 90’s and just got back into Shooting. Thank you Mr. Rhea for all your valuable Intel. Semper Fidelis
ОтветитьInformative video, and entertaining. 🤣
ОтветитьFirst faux pax, some scopes are pre-focused. Second, some scopes use the left dial for parallax only. Money spent well is money well spent!
ОтветитьGreat video, I’m currently in the market for a Lpvo. These videos are very informative. Thanks!
ОтветитьI just bought a new rifle and just wanted the basics. I got that and some of the best mixed in comedy I’ve seen on a gun page 🤣
ОтветитьJoe we need your show and thanks again for the info my friend 👍👍👍👍😁👍😁👍💯💯💯💯👌👌😁😁
ОтветитьI've been told that My Burris E1 is to cheap of a scope , However They offers something to me that I don't find in any other scope . Main thing for me is the fineness of the reticle all the other things in there for elevation etc. is just icing on the cake. BTW I own 9 of them on a huge array of calibers and they all work flawless. The fact that is is only 3x9 and the fact that they are less than $200 is irrelevant. They just work. Also I have killed tons of game with them. Thank you for the video's You are a straight shooter I like that.
ОтветитьCool Ty
ОтветитьLove your videos ! I want to learn to shoot long range ( @ least 1,000 yards ) what power scope do you recommend ? 🤔
I have a Remington 700 varmint in .308 with a 26” barrel . Thanks in advance & keep the videos coming 👍🏾
Hey, nice video, I recently moved away from a digital night vision scope to a conventional optic scope (got myself a good quality German scope) in regards to illumination would say most of my hunting is at dusk or dawn in Australia due to the climate (a lot of night hunting) so will need to spotlight at times and illumination is important down here👍
ОтветитьGreat videos. Please answer me one question. I need to wear glasses all the time. So is it better to focus the eyepiece on the scope to see without my glasses? Or leave my glasses on and adjust the scope? Never seen this covered.
ОтветитьGreat video! Very informative! I was really hoping for some recommendations to make my search easier but thank you very much for the information!
Ответить200 is a lot? Nobody told mark larue's greedy ass that cause he doubled the price of his

ОтветитьLooking for a scope for my 270 and my eyesight is not good. not sure what MM I should buy Have been looking at the Sig Sauer Scopes Price around $200.00 or less. thanks love ur videos
ОтветитьHello from Australia
ОтветитьVery helpful easy to understand and abit of fun also
Ответитьthank you sir really helped!
ОтветитьGreat intro to the subject matter. Thank you.
ОтветитьMy 2 cents on SFP vs. FFP - The downside to FFP in a variable power scope especially with large range like 5 or 6 zoom range, the reticle becomes difficult to pick up at shorter ranges in poor light conditions. My choice is to use a SFP scope with a 3 zoom range. Of course I don't shoot at super long distances. I hunt only to put food on the table and meat in the freezer. I don't need a 5-7 thousand dollar scope to shoot 600-1200 yards (or meters) with cartridges that cost 3-4 $ each. I don't have any problem with you doing that if it's what you like.
ОтветитьGood Review!
ОтветитьGreat video as usual. I use HAWKE and Leapers UTG 3940AO for my HW97K and 77K. No complaints.
ОтветитьThanks for the mounting bracket information.
I’m looking at getting my first scope, and have been thinking about mounting brackets.
The best explanation yet
ОтветитьOpen sights. Never fail. I cant shoot past 100 yrds anyway
