You should have a valuable perspective since you've been riding Waymo for a while.
Give us your take? Thanks.

Never thought I’d see a JJRicks Tesla video!

I’m glad you took a ride in a Tesla and filmed it for your channel. I think Waymo would have done this drive with no interventions, but the few interventions on this drive seem to be easily fixable by Tesla. The next few years will be very interesting on the robo-taxi front!

Just promise you won’t become a fanboy ;)
we need a non-bubble perspective. Greets from Europe where we can’t test at all

One thing to note is that the visualization is different from what the car is actually seeing, besides the path planner. Which means it might not show a vehicle (train) while FSD does. The AI model that controls the car just takes the camera feed as input, while the output is the driving.

My impression is that Tesla seems a little bolder than Waymo, but it hasn't yet been programmed to deal better with bike lanes and tram tracks. I'm not sure that bold is a good quality for AI.

A bit sad that you did not try out roads that are less easy than this.
For me as a human from Sweden, this is like trivial to drive around in. Perfect weather condition, perfect daylight, extremely wide lanes and roads, not much traffic, extremely easy roundabout, very easy crossings and so on.
