King Viserys confronts Daemon Targaryen | House Of The Dragon

Daemon is basically a spoiled rich kid, finding out that Daddy (Viserys) is cutting him off, and is sick of his entitlement and ungrateful attitude.

And what's craziest to me is that when the trial over Viserys and Rhaenys happened, Corlys raised an army to defend Laenor's claim while Daemon raised an army to protect his FAMILY. I don't understand how Viserys can't see that his own brother loves him, even if Daemon is the way he is.

Its wild that Viserys is the older brother. Like imagine ar some point viserys being the dominant presence between them

Daemon is actually the perfect hand. He has no REAL desire to be king (or at least rule) but he’s more than happy and capable of getting his hands dirty (no pun intended) in ways the Visetys simply won’t. A second maegor the the cruel at his worst, a second Aegon the conqueror at his best, Daemon is the dragon of the dragon king and should be used as such. Thoughts?

A minor note but compare the Kingsguard in this scene when compared to Ser Barristan Selmy's dismissal in Game of Thrones. Barristan drew his blade on the King and Queen Regent in open view of the court, boasted about how he could cut all of his peers down easily, swords drawn, and still felt confident enough to disarm himself and storm out with his back turned.

Daemon, a proven warrior in his own right, takes one step towards the Iron Throne in objection, and the Kingsguard all move in unison, not even drawing their swords all the way, and Daemon concedes.

Just goes to show how far the Kingsguard had fallen as an institution by the time the present day had rolled around.

Underrated line when Daemon calls Otto Hightower a “CUNT!” Plainly disgusted that he’s the only one who can see Otto’s true colors, Daemon always had his brothers back.

the script writing, the lines, the acting, the suspense, this is what i mised from GAME OF THRONES!

I see Daemon as a less powerful Bloodraven - let the kings hands be free of blood and dirt and let the true Hand/Heir be the bad cop. Daemon may be volatile, he’s also someone others follow out of respect AND fear. A rare combination

In the end, Daemon was right. And yes, the second son line could be talking about himself, but there's a key difference — Daemon loves Viserys.

the quick movement from the kingsguard to draw their swords was so cool. It also speaks of how dangerous they believe Daemon is. 4 vs 1, and they are completely on edge.

This series is a masterpiece

Blood and Fire: Viserys was very upset at what Daemon said.

HotD: “I HAVE ONLY EVER DEFENDED YOU!”

And yes, I know the point is that Blood and Fire is, essentially, a history textbook - it omits personal details. But the fact that the writers took something with so little concrete material and just created this amazing scene is simply impeccable.

Paddy Considine doesn't get enough praise. This guy was an acting beast every time he's on.

I mean like daemon spoke truth like viserys was weak man they werent helping him at all. Hell man they were making him more weaker and otto knew it man. Hated that viserys couldn't see it and daemon could, daemon would've made him more stronger in all aspects

You see when Daemon turns Vizy T has the look of anger on his face but behind it, he is so sad to have to send him away. He loves Daemon so much and in the end Daemon showed how much he loved Vizy only to run out of time to show it.

I believe if Daemon apologized for what he said this would’ve been fixed and none of it would’ve happened ms Viserys loved him. He just was hurt asf

If Viserys died right here and now, Daemon would take the Iron Throne, make Rhaenyra his queen and House Targaryen will be stronger than ever.

The acting in this scene , and the weight the white cloaks carry is amazing. Especially since in the game of thrones series the white cloaks are all over looked in the show besides perhaps the hound, Jaime, Harriston, and the mountain when he is ser Robert strong
