WHY YOU NEED TO THINK BEFORE YOU BUY: Chanel vs Dior CLASSIC INVESTMENT BAGS

The Chanel 2.55 Reissue, Classic Flap and the Lady Dior – these are all pretty “classic” and “safe” bags to buy, along with Hermes of course!
But there are a few things that I think you should WAIT and evaluate/be aware of before you make your purchase. This is especially for those of you who want a ‘once in a lifetime’ bag (where you only want to buy and own one). Or even those of you who want to own just a small collection of safe, long-term investment items (financial and wearability)

Chanel seems old fashioned to me…..styles that haven’t changed. I know that some people love that, it’s classic, but some of the bags look they come out of a grandmother’s closet and I am turned off by the poor quality. The hardware on my Chanel was wearing off after six months of light use. Ridiculous. I prefer Dior. It has a classic and more youthful vibe.

I prefer Dior because Chanel it's really poor quality whether it's makeup bag jewelry or clothes because 1 week ago I went to Chanel to buy glasses a bag and a knit I take the bag out of the box and the chain fits the knit there was a hole seriously I do not recommend this brand I find that Dior has better quality it is better and more beautiful

Good video, my wife has a bag collection and just got her first chanel, the trendy CC. I am looking at surprising her with a lady dior, but it's an LE off white, cloth with flowers.... you got me to rethink for a conservative color and leather...

I will not buy deal for couple reasons first role their sales is crazy they keep texting you because their manager asked them to text how Nagy customers a day . Dior’s production is much more . back Dior price is just a bit cheaper and the size is also about the same . In addition, if prince Diana didn’t carry deals back nobody would care to buy lady Dior . . Every time with my husband tries to get some suits from Tio they always ask him we need to get your wife to come in to buy all the things we can customize a bag the way she wants it or we can make exactly the way she likes whatever she purchased from Chanel we can do the same style for her , or we can let her design the way she wants it. Why would I want to spend so much money and have to design my own ? This is not some kids doing the artwork . I don’t want to spend money you have to spend so much time to think what to do. I spent so much money is because I won the quality I want to convenienceBasically I just don’t like to spend money to have . When a bag can be purchased so easily that means money you’re spending US 5000 or 6000 dollars everybody can get it because their production in more than enough . If they keep calling you text you every day or every other day that means they don’t have a lot of business ? That’s how afoot has been trained to do . Does if matter what they are trying to sell you . bags ready to wear or their jewelry & watch? If they have so many customers fighting for their items , no sales would need to keep calling or texting you I have always have items from Chanel , I always have to reserve ahead of time but it’s not a problem for anyone who is a loyal customer . It is not about the resale value only in fact this is not even what I first consider it is about spending the same kind of money but anyone can have what I have so easily, that is why I don’t like to wear some thing as a uniform so I don’t preferred to choose deal their production is way too much , and their sales person is too annoying the worst training place ever ever seen

Yes I have done some impulse shopping so many times I am 41 years old and addicted to handbags and I have made so many mistakes over the years going off of trends and not what works for me and my body and my lifestyle! I have owned a small classic flap and sold it in the past I just don’t like Chanel‘s quality for the price my favorite is Louis Vuitton and Dior ! I stick with classic bags from Louis Vuitton like the Alma BB /pochette Matisse/and recently purchased my first Dior saddle bag! It was supposed to be here by Christmas but I’m still waiting for my package to arrive they got held up I have the same Alma BB that you have watching your video on it is why I bought it! I think it is a great bag for the money it is also stylish and timeless I recommend it for everybody’s first luxury handbag purchase Fr LV❤️ and on another note Louis Vuitton always goes through different creative directors and I cannot wait until they get a new one it’s so exciting to see the new visions that they have for the bags I am not pleased with these puffer type bags though! Well chanel is the brand that I stop buying. The price increase but quality drop!

I think my caviar bags from Chanel cover many use-cases (day-to-day, work, travel, night out) and they're beautiful but my Lady Dior in lambskin is the most gorgeous bag I've set my eyes on.. it is STUNNING but it's just not an everyday bag even with the strap.

I also don’t think that self-preserving voice in my head (when it comes to saving for a rainy day) will ever really go away b/c of how I was brought up. The ‘investment and longevity aspect’ of buying bags will inevitably influence my purchases b/c of that. Also, I do love that the 2.55 reissue in particular reads to me as understated luxury. As someone who gravitates towards utilitarian bags like Celine’s classic, Fendi’s peekaboo, and Loewe’s puzzle... I think either the 2.55 or Classic Flap feels like my jam. Adore the utilitarian compartments too!

I have seen that you have both. Which one you love more? Which one you think that is more useable? And if you had to choose between those two which Dior bag would you choose?
