I quite often went to the Marks and Sparkle Food at Liverpool St. Station when i went home. My favs were the wraps and the salad bowls (pasta, green salad and mustard and honey chicken). But in general the quality i always enjoyed and the prices i found to be fair. Of course you also find absolute junk, but just ignore it. One thing is for sure, you can find quite a lot to fit your taste. One thing i avoided like the plague was the seafood. It just wasn't good at all. I tried it a few times and every time i was disappointed.

I am a sucker for cheese so buying those cheese platters at M&S, no thanks. I rather go to a cheesemonger or to Harrods Food Halls. For fish it would be the same or go directly to Billingsgate if there wouldn't be the opening time issue. But regardless it is worth it if you want perfectly fresh and top quality fish and sea food.

What i do like with M&S is the freshness of the products. Never had issues and then i am also willing to pay a bit more.

Hannah- you're right. I am going to make a comment about all the plastic wrapped fruits and veggies. I realize that plastic containers may be convenient for the distributor and for shoppers, but what a load of trash that is so destructive to our health and the environment. And it's the same for the prepackaged ready meals. Dairy products, salsa- it all comes in plastic containers. So very hard to avoid no matter where you live!!!! I do try though!

why buy stuff in plastic?

Hello from Canada....... This was a fun video to watch. I love to cook!! In Canada this grocery cart would probably cost $100+ Your cost equals $76.60 in Canadian money. The flowers for £15 is $26.40 here, but a bouquet in Canada would cost $30
Many of the other items are less in England than here. Bread runs $3 to $7 a loaf. Fruit here are usually sold by weight, per pound or per kilogram. Apples are $3.99, grapes can be about $6 /lb. Strawberries are sold in a 2 lb package for $6-8.
The price of meat has gone very high over the last 2 years. Ground beef - what you call mince - is about $7-8 per lb. the whole cooked chickens here used to be $10, but recently I have seen them for about $15.
Small salad, or crudités run around $5-8 per package.
Yesterday, I bought a pork loin, about $5.84 per kilo, which was a very good sale price. The total was just under $19, and will make 3 meals for us.
I don’t buy ready to eat meals, or convenience foods usually. I prefer to make it all at home.

I am Taiwanese, and I relocated from the UK to the US one year ago. I must admit, I truly miss M&S. Their food is simply outstanding, and I have an absolute love for every item they offer. It makes me wonder why they haven't expanded their business in the US, as they have done in Hong Kong and Singapore.
During the Christmas season, I happened to notice that Target was selling M&S shortbread, which came as a big surprise to me.

Hannah tip for the garlic ... peel and put in a mini chopper then in a jar and top with olive oil stick in the Fridge and you have fresh garlic for months I also do it with ginger and chilli x

Marks and Spencer is one of my all time favorite supermarket chains. Loved and miss their Rose perfumed body lotion as heck . Thanks Hannah for making this wonderful video of M&S and the detailed food description.

Marks and Sparks is full of unhealthy food filled with sugar, vinegar and yeast
plus sugar. As a person with yeast problems I can no longer do much shopping
there. A good store which has not considered customers with allergies.

I think the prices are great and what everyone here says, the quality looks top notch. In Texas things have gotten quite expensive. I would prefer to shop at M&S than to go to Tom Thumb or Kroger. Side note, I love your smart shopping skills.

The London M&S stores have far more choice than any others in the country. It's called geographic segmentation and all supermarkets do it, which is annoying if want to eat better or treat yourself if you don't live anywhere near a store like this one in Marble Arch

As usual when you're in a grocery store I begin to rethink my life in beautiful California. Our prices for everything are outrageous. I did scream at you, "Stop!" when you picked up the stuffed olives. We don't have any grocery stores with extensive prepared meals and snacks. Its oriented to large families. Enjoy!!
