I have over 380+ hours in Baldi's Basics Plus, and its only had 1 minor update since i started lmao (Started playing at the end of 0.3.7, its been 0.3.8 for over a year due to overhaul stuff). Im hyped about the claymated character in development right now and also want to use this to let people know that the BB+ Kickstarter logs are actually available to everyone for some reason meaning you can see some behind the scenes talk like how the stupid Unity stuff didn't cause this game to get delayed by ages or get cancelled fortunately. The main 2 ways ive never truly had to deal with the issue of finishing a game is that while i have access to essentially infinite games nowadays im still working on a select bunch and rarely get any other games (because funds going towards something like that are instead going to Yu-Gi-Oh most of the time lmao) and the other thing? Setting goals! I'm actually working on my Living pokedex so i can transfer mons and get the shiny charm effortlessly in gen 6 and 7 (my Pokemon are in a 3Ds Homebrew app called PKSM so whenever Bank shutsdown i at least can move mons between all DS and 3DS games) and the only reason i started this was because i had a huge collection from simply completing the BW2 National Dex in 3 weeks of owning Pokemon Black 2 (btw peak Pokemon i see why i had a blast with it as a kid and highly recommend it/White 2) so i got to work playing through Pokemon Y (soloing with Mega Lucario and then later on Yveltal and a random Wonder Traded Level 82 Talonflame for some reason lmao definitely really bad game and idk why they tried to make Team Flare Sympathetic wtf Serena) and am now working on the dex some more.

TLDR: im setting goals whether they be just play the game because its fun(Baldi's Basics Plus), or collecting everything (National Dex in pkmn Black 2 and Living dex upto 3Ds era). Hell Yo-Kai Watch 3 still has me working on finishing its Medallium years after it's launch! (Currently 734/752 counting all bosses which ive defeated them all)

I think a lot of the time for me, it's a "but". Like
- I remember really liking a let's play of Yuppie Psycho, I should play that. But... I think I enjoyed the let's players' commentary more
- Baba is You, is a puzzle game. I like those. But... I'm not good with it's kind of puzzles
- Chrono Trigger is an RPG, I like those. But... I have so many more games, that I should play first

Man, this is my exact problem. My husband gets after me for this lol. I do eventually go back to most games I get (sometimes years later). He just dislikes that I get them, play them a bit and then move on. I STILL haven't finished Elden Ring, despite having the mental drive to do so. He borrowed it from me via Steam sharing and finished the game lol. I bought it when it came out. I have executive decision disorder junk with a lot of things, though....

I have just been playing the stanley parable ultra deluxe so much to 100% it, I've found EVERY SINGLE POSSIBLE ENDING (There are 42) and I completed every single achievement including "Commitment" where you have to play the bloody game for the entire duration of a Tuesday, I stayed up all night drinking coffee and the game crashed. I had to use steam achievement manager to get it because I was not waiting another week just to do that again. I am not touching that game until they make an update that adds to the game. I hate that game, the worst part is, is that I have barely played any other games, and there are multiple games I have not finished because of it.

How do I finish an ''arcade'' or endless game or mobile life service games. There are games in my bavklog I can't even play anymore because the servers are offline.. But I can't put them into ''completed'' god this is just a mindfuck to me

I say finishing a game is getting to the end. If it has no storyline push yourself into getting the highest level. If its like minecraft or something like minecraft then do whatever. Its called an open world for a reason

The backlog is something that happens for nearly every medium. My plan to watch list for anime was always as long if not longer than the amount of shows I completed. The percentage of manga I have read in my collection consistently sits around 60%. For games I sit at around the same ratio. Thing is though, eventually everything lines up and you do get around to them. In some cases it took years for me to get around to finishing a game and it suddenly became a favorite. Honestly I think it is a huge positive to have more things that you want to play than you have played, means you still have a lot to look forward to.

I just noticed that when you play a creation game (dreams, fall guys, elc.) You basically choose what style of gameplay you want, if you want a unbalanced bean falling left and right, or mabey a red ragdoll walking up to a blue one and killing it, THATS WHAT I RELISED RIGHT NOW
