Just what I was looking for. Thanks for taking the time and going in to so much detail!
ОтветитьThank you - this was very helpful. I have so far made seven Grafton tops, with a preference for the square neckline which is something different and very flattering on me. I have now bought the Concord pattern and look forward to making my own comparisons, and I will also try a version with gathered sleeves as in the Carlyle pattern (Cashmerette Club pattern).
If the Concord fits better than the Grafton, I will probably try to transplant the square neckline to the Concord.
Thank you for the video: super interesting. I love the U scoop of the Grafton because if you wear a vest under it, you can add another colour and the beautiful scoop effect, without showing cleavage
ОтветитьWhat's causing the pulling at the side seam? I also think the concord sleeve, neckline and hem is nicer on you. I would like to see how both look with the shoulder adjustment.
ОтветитьThat was a great comparison. Thank you.
ОтветитьBrilliant in depth video! So interesting to see the pattern pieces compared to understand the differences in the fit at the end
ОтветитьGreat video very helpful thank you x
ОтветитьGreat comparison of these patterns! I have made both these pattens and love them. I’m glad I have both patterns because of the distinct variations of each one. It’s always great to have options!
ОтветитьThanks so much for this video. I actually learned a lot because our measurements are almost exactly the same! Body dysmporphia is so real. I’d want both patterns ultimately. The concord looks like the best fitting t shirt but the grafons square neck and turtle neck options would make it worth getting both. I currently own neither, though I do have the raglan tee that comes in Ahead of tha Curve.
Also the two patterns used the same fabric type right? The grafton looked so much more thick/stiff on you than the concord which looked light and soft.
It’s so helpful to see how you assess fit and compare patterns. I learn so much! Thanks for sharing.
ОтветитьI’ve made quite a few Concord tees (and a dress hack) and like the fit. Typically I need only a length adjustment. From the line drawings, it looked like the top of the Grafton was similar, so it was interesting to see a side-by-side comparison. I’m sure you could combine the Concord top with the skirt patterns of the Grafton for dress options too. Thanks for sharing!
ОтветитьOkay wow, this is so helpful. I'm looking for that holy grail of t-shirt patterns that I can settle into using and has numerous options. I started with a Wardrobe By Me, but had to do a full bust adjustment on it and am not 100% happy yet. Now my dilemma is if I should go ahead and spring for ANOTHER pattern. But I really love the options on the Grafton.
ОтветитьGreat detail. They both look nice on you. I think the dress options included with the Grafton give you some dressy options while the concord looks slightly sporty. I love the relaxed option you are wearing!
ОтветитьThanks for this, so helpful!
I always have to make the shoulders smaller on Cashmerette so seeing the shoulder fit on you was another reminder of why we sew - fit!
I just love your comparisons in your videos and this one is awesome too. I agree with you that the Concord is just a bit better for your body but both are winners, esp. once you adjust the shoulders! I also like that you don't get bogged down by over-analyzing so you can enjoy both of these new tees. While I'm a sucker for all greens, that "cinnamon" color is just beautiful!
ОтветитьGreat video, as always. I totally appreciate how you geek out on the details of comparing two basic tee patterns. I love the Concord for myself, and I think it looks great on you. Since I don't wear dresses all that often, I think I'll skip the Grafton. Thank you for the comparison.
ОтветитьThank you, you have answered the question that popped into my mind when you made the last video.
I need about 4 new t-shirts. I’ve even been wearing a wearable mock up that I didnt finish properly, such is my dearth!!
I think if you added a bit of width at the bust side seams it would help remove some of the drag lines in the back of each tee. It appears to me that the front of each tee is borrowing some space from the back to fit your bust. Great video! Thanks for the comparison!
ОтветитьI am so pleased I discovered your channel, you seem to make the videos I want to see! I have been looking at these patterns since you mentioned the Concord. We have very similar measurements, except I don’t have curved hips and I do have narrow sloped shoulders. I was leaning towards buying the Grafton in any case, I loved all the options it offered and for me I feel it would be a ‘forever pattern’ and I will get my money’s worth out of it. This has confirmed my leaning towards the Grafton and I can’t wait to get buying and making…thank you 😊
ОтветитьGreat compare and contrast!
ОтветитьThanks for this, I’ve been wondering about the differences. You did a great job and I always love the comparisons.
ОтветитьExcellent and thorough comparison, Theresa. I'm not in the market for either of these patterns, but it was fascinating to watch, and I'm sure so many people will find this useful.
I agree that I prefer the cinnamon Concord on you, but I love the green of the Grafton - such a pretty shade, and they'll both be really wearable. I can see that not adjusting the shoulders might have been a bit annoying for you, but it was actually quite useful to see them compared out of the envelope without any adjustments.
The concord was so much more flattering on you
ОтветитьYou did an incredible comparison.
ОтветитьI always enjoy these videos. I have used a Concord so many times but haven’t tried the Grafting yet.
ОтветитьI prefer the green neckline, maybe because of the shape of your jaw?
ОтветитьWow, the Grafton looks like an entire wardrobe. It looks great, but pretty expensive for someone who has a bunch of patterns I can piece together.
