How many times have you beaten Prey? Is there something you wish a "Prey 2" would do?
ОтветитьSystem Shock 3 was already the Sysytem Shock 3 we never got. It was developed by OtherSide but they went defunct and now it's in limbo by Tencent
ОтветитьI love Prey ‼️
ОтветитьThe TRIUNE 🧠
3 -- NEO Cortex : God -- Good ~ ``Knows /Calculates / Thinks / Believes \\\ DRAM``
2 -- LIMBO | Border :::: ^ Limbic System ^ Mammalian Brain ~ emotions ``Feels / Memory`` = Intermediary • Arbiter
1 -- Reptilian\Primal : _Devil -- Evil_∆_Live -- Lived ~ ``Acts * EGO``
Prey is a masterpiece.
ОтветитьThe first part was a SyFy classic....this "Prey" wasn't my liking....it was like playing a spaced of out "Fall Out" meets "Dead Space" with a generic story. Boy i wished we would of gotten the sequel we saw game scenes in Game Informer.....
🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨
I agree with Colantonio and think an immersive sim could be a commercial success. Given the rarity of the genre, and the superficial similarities to FPS, I do think it would have to do an incredible job of tutorializing the right player mindset. I see no reason they couldn't sell.
ОтветитьThe boltcaster is your anti-Cystoid weapon. The game flat-out tells you that they react to sound, so hitting any surface with it causes them to swarm to the spot and self-destruct.
Also, in zero-G, bolts fly in a straight line until they hit something, so you can take out nests way outside of any weapon's effective range, and conserve precious 9mm and 12g rounds.
that looking glass loading screen looks like an old irrational games logo.
Ответитьagreed. mooncrash was garbage but Prey was S-tier
ОтветитьWhy has nobody talked about the fact that morphing into a coffee cup and having the physics of a coffee cup breaks the laws of conservation of mass and energy, your mass shouldn’t change just cause your shape changes. 😂😂
ОтветитьWith morph level 3 you can mimic operators
ОтветитьI've watched countless reviews of this game. I will now watch another. I've never played this game.
ОтветитьComment for engagement
ОтветитьAfter one year and almost 100 hours on Steam, I installed it again and did an only typhon run (then only human for the achievement) and it confirmed once again that Prey is a 6/10 game. The fact that typhon skills are underwhelming because they lack hacking, something you could do in SS2 with psi, makes it once again what I feared. I am glad that others like it a lot though.
ОтветитьI don’t engage a ton with games media, it’s baffling to me that this game didn’t sell like crazy. It’s *so good*. Hearing people didn’t like it just… confuses me XD
ОтветитьThe boltcaster has 3 primary uses:
1. Interact with buttons and screens. This only really comes up a handful of times, but in those handfuls it's very nice to have.
2. Cystoids. Besides just chucking props at them, it's probably singlehandedly the most effective solution against them, especially in zero-g.
3. Portable distraction device. Nearby enemies will investigate the sound of the darts landing, so it's very useful for either leading enemies to ambush sites you set up, or alternatively to point enemies somewhere else to make it easier to sneak by.
"why would you use the mimic morph power" bro you can access ANYWHERE in this game with the right morph
dont have leverage? no problem! drop a pomegrenate from your inventory and roll thru the tiny hole between the wall and the box!
bars blocking your way?
coffee cup time! too small to stop me!
small window in a security booth?
I'm a goddamn notebook bro
I am playing this for the first time, and am falling in love with it. There are so many options, and the esthetic is incredible. A total "hidden" gem. Hidden, that is, at least to me until recently
ОтветитьChrono Cross, Stalker GAMMA, Prey, System Shock 2 in that order for me. Love this game.
ОтветитьBeen searching for Prey content since beating it the other day and didn’t even know about the documentary until you mentioned it. Even the documentary of this game is a hidden gem
ОтветитьPrey 1 is underrated 😢😢
ОтветитьThe Huntress Bolt caster is a great utility weapon! Outside of its ability to interact with buttons and computer screens, It's also used to lure typhon away from or to a specific spot which is great for sneaking around or setting up traps. In one specific case it is used to great effect as an actual weapon. When shot at a nest or close to a cluster of Cystoids, they will follow the bolt and explode when they reach it killing most if not all of them.
ОтветитьSeeing these reviews makes me think that the average way of playing an immersive sim is what, in other genres, would be considered beta-testing.
I mean it sounds like you're trying your darnest to "break the game", just by playing it regularly... and it sounds like an actual hell for developers. I can barely wrap my head around how they can keep such a huge heap of interactions in mind without going insane.
Prey was a good game I liked it, it could've expanded so much more hopefully they'll be a sequel
ОтветитьNeuroshock. In my headcanon Mandela universe, it's called Neuroshock. The Prey thing is an obvious attempt to shit out an ashcan copy, that they didn't plan on being a genius sleeper hit. Typical publisher bollocks.
Ответитьso loud!!!
Ответитьthese games sound terrible
ОтветитьMarketing failed this game gravely. Should’ve been called Xenoshock.
ОтветитьPrey(2017), System Reshock (2023) and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (2002) are the only titles that have given me the true sense of in-world atmosphere done right.
Also Prey (2017) was the only of the 3 games I could not beat with my skillset.
This game is absolutely amazing. I wish it did better so the devs could continue making these types of games.
ОтветитьPrey was criminally underrated. I went in skeptical. I didn't want to like it. It ended up feeling like what you might get if Valve got the license for Metroid Prime and went a little bonkers on creating wild abilities instead of enemy variety. The creative agency and atmosphere are second to none. It was also surprisingly philosophical.
ОтветитьI didn't like prey because i dislike the way it handles story. When a character only exists as a voice talking at you, its hard to be invested. There's something to be said for blank slate protagonists, but Morgan has a past. We just don't get to know it without investing hours into searching through audio logs and text dumps. I prefer the story to have my charcter involved while the interesting part happens, not exploring the aftermath of the intersting part.
ОтветитьIt felt overrated the 3 time i attempted to play through prey. It didn't help that it ran like garbage on ps consoles and still does. It also had the absolute worst controller support i have ever seen on pc.
ОтветитьHaven't watched the review yet but.
Prey 2017 was my goty of 2017.
I was waiting for prey 2 for years and it managed to overcome my grudge salt.
It's arkanes best game imo.
It's not like bioshock at all and it's better than it in every way imo.
Mooncrash is my all time favourite expansion.
I'm very sad Microsoft hates talant.
Top 5 all time.
Arkane austin is gone but at least they made a classic.
Talos 1 every area have story whats before typhon outbreak/or while in outbreak/something happens makes them unique you progress the talos 1
ОтветитьFuck. Publishers.
ОтветитьThe Gloo gun being expected for combat totally ruined this game IMO. Replace the Gloo gun with just some more ammo for everything else and you have a really good game.
ОтветитьI believe you missed that the very ending, where you choose between killing them all and shake hands, is still a simulation, indicating they still don't trust you. There's an inserted broken frame there, which is present during all other instances when you're in a simulation. So this ending does not undo all of the choices you made during your playthrough.
Ответитьamazing game
ОтветитьPrey Power
ОтветитьPrey and Prey: Mooncrash are two of the best im-sims ever made, hands down. As others have noted, it is almost criminal how underrated/underplayed they are, and I think that falls squarely at the feet of Bethesda for forcing the name Prey on it rather than PsychoShock.
ОтветитьI love that, like Deus Ex, you can use the numpad to type in codes. Nice little touch of immersion.
ОтветитьA minor rave, but going from System Shock inventory management to Prey's automatic inventory management was a real sigh of relief lol
Ответить
