I went from first division in Honduras, then covid. decided to do a summer in USL 2, had to do Amateur reinstatement.. then in Colombia I got an opportunity in the first division. Their window for free agents is open longer, but because I had done my reinstatement my window had closed. All I could do was train that entire window until the January one. Luckily now back to professional (Not in Colombia, in Paraguay) At the time I had no idea about this type of stuff. All true, though I will add: leagues do have rules for rostering free agents too besides the contract.
