Top Flite XL 2020 Review

Hey how much did you pay for these? I think I just ordered the same ones 2020 xl-13 and it cost me $229

just curious, what was your reasoning for buying these?

Thanks for the review. I am just getting back into golfing after a 20 year hiatus and looking for a reasonably-priced starter set. These are currently $229 at Dick's and Golf Galaxy, but there's also a Top Flite "Gamer X" set I'm interested in for a bit more... like $379.

Getting back into Golf and just bought a set of Taylor Made from a friend for cheap. But they’re 14 years old and the grips are falling apart. I’m gonna flip them and buy a new set... definitely going with these.

I know I know, why would I get rid of the Taylor Mades?! Well I bought them cheap so I can instantly sell them for a bit more. It’s like buying a 2006 Benz when I could just buy a 2020 Honda. So yeah... thanks for the review, definitely getting my 2020 TopFlite XL’s.

So no pitching wedge?

you probably realized this by now but the club that you called a 3 iron is actually a pitching wedge

This spring I will start my next page in life @the age of 40 and wanted to start golfing is this a good set for a brand new golfer or should I look for something even cheaper ?

Don’t the driver feel super lite to you

I'm new to golf and had NO equipment at all. My wife bought me these as a gift and I enjoy them thoroughly. How do you personally think this driver fairs compared to a top of the line driver in terms of distance? Do you think I'm losing distance with this driver because it's less expensive? Or do you think this thing keeps up? Just curious...

As a brand new golfer, this set has been exactly what I needed to get started. I really like the bag too! Glad to hear that others find it good as well!

This set is actually decent it's not cobra or Callaway but it's really good for beginners

Drag/keep the club low along the ground & focus on not breaking your wrists on start up. Swing like a letter "C", Finish high with your hands. Nice finish facing the ball flight with your belt buckle!

I'm not a fan of the hybrids but the rest of the set is great.

Can you adjust the loft on the driver?

TopFlite XL line of irons has been great beginner/basic set for something like 20 years. I got a set of XLs about 2005...based on a review that sounded a lot like this one...LOL. Some things don't change.

Get a $20 used bag and get used clubs. This is not the way to go. $100 more goes a long way

what degree is the wedge?

Just got mine and extentions as someone who is 6'2. Can't wait to use them im a brand new golfer

Any body know were I could get top flite D2 distance golf balls

Hit a sub 90 game with these Irons plus the increbile Taylor Sim Driver with the adjuster. Absolutely love it. The driver was more expensive than the bag lol. Dont expect much out of anything other than the irons/putter unless you just happen to fit the woods/drivers perfectly. Bags and socks are super nice to. I got the 2020 did not like my cousins 2022s as much still decent tho

I bought them last week and started out chipping first using wedge. I know they are good clubs and I am told the shaft will break down the road after many hits. I might put better shafts on them XLs cuz I know I’ll keep them for a long time

Nice review 👍 bought the 2023 set 2 days ago. Been out of golf for about 8 years decided to get back into it and I hit the course right away man the irons are awesome! Not a fan of the driver but that can be replaced everything else was great
