Hey all- the comment the following was in response to has since been deleted (NOT by me) but I wanted to keep this up:
Hey! Discussed this in an earlier comment.
You are totally right, it was lazy of me to not look up pronunciations (of designer names) and I will be doing so moving forward! With a video involving this many patterns I was overwhelmed and this was a corner I cut and that's not okay. It was absolutely not my intention to dismiss anyone's name but I totally understand how it seems that way and I am really sorry. I worry a lot that mispronouncing someone's name is more disrespectful than trying and failing to pronounce, but you guys have helped me see that the effort is what's most important. Moving forward I will be using an IPA chart to sound out any names I have trouble with and giving it my best effort. I genuinely appreciate your feedback and again I sincerely apologize for making anyone feel dismissed, that is NEVER how I want ANYONE to feel on my channel.
Girl, what kind of community are you part of?! I’m seven minutes in and you’ve asked us not to get mad at your hair, not to get mad because you threw a couple PetiteKnit patterns in there, and not to get mad at how you pronounced “Matisse”. I’m not out to get ya 😳
ОтветитьThis is the best and you’re so fun to watch. Thanks for putting this together! I’m getting back into knitting and this is super inspiring. Also, I love neutrals so never apologize for balancing out all the color.
ОтветитьAlthough i love that you want to focus on smaller creators for the most part I think it's unnecessary to apologise every time you bring up a petite knit pattern. There is a reason her patterns are so popular; they're clear, pretty and timeless. It's okay to mention them, especially when you highlight smaller creators as well 😊
Ответитьthis video is a lifesaver THANK YOU. also yes the eyelets in the ingrid arent to my taste either, knitted the mens ver and even tho theres no shortrow shaping on the arm/shoulder like the womens ver i adore it.
ОтветитьBig work, thank you for your video
Ответитьthank you for showcasing all these stunning patterns, cant wait to check out some of these pattern designers and cast on some projects !!! :D
ОтветитьI personaly dislike those comments on pronouncing the designers names. You did a great job with your bundle, the desigs are easy to find on ravelry and you made a recommendation. That is very nice for the designers and also a form of advertising. And it is very nice for us, if we like a pattern, we can immediately put it into our favourites. Pronouncing unknown and difficult names is no sign of respect. I am sure, all the designers are happy to be mentioned and highly recommended here. Sign of respect is to show us the special designs and why they are knitworthy. If somebody needs a language school, I think a knitting podcast is not the right way to achieve.
ОтветитьThis is terrific! All the hard work you put into this, wow! Thank you! I am relieved you admitted you can’t pronunciate many of the designer names. I am like that too, it is so hard, and where do we even begin to learn to say their names???
This is my first time hearing your podcast and I am now subscribed. Thank you so much for an informative podcast ❤
Mie? It's pronounced something like Meeae. Ferring: without rolling the r. Pretty straightforward. I'm Danish and we do have strange names 😅
ОтветитьThis is the first video I’m watching of yours, you crack me up!!! I have to watch again to put some of these in my favs.
ОтветитьYou make such awesome inspo videos! This one has helped me hone in on the few I can realistically make this fall!
Oh, and you absolutely should have some neutral colors! Those of us who are too scared to play with color are jealous of how comfortable you are with it, but neutral staples do have their place!
Came for the knits inspo and left with a book recommendation
ОтветитьI really want to do the Maggie cardi because its my name lol
ОтветитьThat was such a fun video. Sorry about your poltergeist. I’ll be trying those Lodge socks by Ozetta. I’m currently reading My Cousin Rachel by Daphne Demaurier and loving it.
ОтветитьLove this video! Cannot wait for fall.
Sidenote: I would suggest Camilla Vad's patterns only to those who do not mind mistakes. I've made the Magnolia bloom and the field slipover myself and both patterns contain spelling or number mistakes. Now, I also have the field sweater pattern but I won't be making it anytime soon because the mistakes bother me a lot. So if the mistakes don't bother anyone else, go for it! If it would bother you, maybe save your money my knitting friends (the designer has been contacted several times by many people but refuses to acknowledge the issues with the patterns)
Hi Maddie, thanks for curating these beautiful patterns, I appreciate the effort you put into this video. One suggestion is that please try and prounce people's names when showcasing their work next time. It is a form of recogination and credit giving, so it should not be taken away just because those names look different. Attempt it, say it badly, even that is already way better than not saying it. Women as creators and makers have long been made nameless, erased and anonymous throughout history. Please make efforts to not do that to female creators again.
ОтветитьNice video, the cozy autumn socks are on my list now.
I started the Senhøst sweater by kari hestnes for this fall.
what a great video! apologies if you mentioned this - what are you wearing? it looks like my jam :)
ОтветитьNot sure if I missed it but did you mention what you're wearing? Love this fall bundle! Also appreciate that you'll be looking up pronunciations moving forward. I'm a new viewer and I really appreciate that! Got a subscribe from me!
ОтветитьHow are you going to attempt to say liv bjorholm lyhne but not even try megumi shinagawa? does it really take that much effort?
ОтветитьThank you for putting so many choices into one video! I love options and have jotted down some of my favs to look up on Ravelry. 🧶
ОтветитьI love this video 🍁🍁🍁
ОтветитьI also am normally a color girlie but LOVE the look of a textured sweater in a neutral, I am working on the Salty Days in cream rn and am obsessed! Also what are the details on the yarn for your Star Crossed Prep School Pullover? I love it!!
ОтветитьI appreciate the speed that you went through the patterns. 😅
ОтветитьOMG!! all this time I thought the people saying petite knitter were just saying it wrong 🤣😂🤭
ОтветитьFor the coy top it looks like lana grossa per fortuna
ОтветитьYou had me at crazy cats pullover
ОтветитьThoughts on wrap sweaters. Almost every maker is not happy with the wrap. The struggles I am hearing; how to fasten the wrap. It is saggy, it is bulky, it adds thickness at the tummy area. The version you have shown solves most of these problems.
ОтветитьMaddie, you are so cute and even though I am way older than you are and some of the designs would not look so good on this ancient body, I will still watch you faithfully! I did absolutely love that segment when you went to the fiber show! ❤
ОтветитьI wanted to say thank you for your hard work and time in making this video❤❤❤.I started knitting my fall wardrobe late July.I knit a red sweater inspired by red craze.Currently knitting a pink drop shoulder and a gray cable knit cardigan.I need to make some accessories😅.
ОтветитьWhat pattern is ur pullover??? LOVE
ОтветитьYou could always embroider leaves on the Giverney blouse instead of flowers and in a fall colour it would be gorgeous
Ответитьthe elara cardigan has buttonholes for buttons in the instructions! the sample photo just didnt have any attached:)
ОтветитьI adore your personality. You are so much fun to watch. I’ve watched another one of your videos and the only reason I didn’t subscribe (and still hesitate) is because your videos have waaaay too many ad breaks. I feel like I watch for a couple of minutes and just when I’m relaxing into your chat, I have to stop knitting to skip another ad. Maybe this is something you can look into and maybe cut back on? I’d be a subscriber and dedicated watcher if you did. Thanks for sharing your pattern round-up. 😊
ОтветитьOmg such a great podcast. So much detail. Big thanks! 😊
ОтветитьThe best time to wear a striped sweater is definitely all the time! 😂❤
ОтветитьThanks for all of this. And just a warning here, once you knit your first shawl, you'll be hooked.
ОтветитьCan I knit? Not at all. Am I strictly a crochet accessory girlie? Absolutely. Did I still watch every moment? You bet. <3
ОтветитьThanks for a great video! Loved your commitment to fall patterns haha. My only comment is that I encourage you to give pronouncing names a try - especially as some of them were super easy and it's important to go that extra step. If we can easily pronounce complex traditionally western names then phonetically sounding out non-western names to at least give it a try is worth the extra effort to be respectful to the designers. Just a thought for next time :) But love your content and keep up the great stuff!
Ответитьused this video to finish binding off the baggilion stitches on the body of my mustard yellow maggie cardi. i think ill post it once the second sleeve is done 😮💨
ОтветитьThank you for the really great inspo! Love your presentation!
ОтветитьGreat fun, thank you 🤗
ОтветитьI love how in every one of your round up videos there’s a pattern that makes me go “That’s it! That’s the pattern I’ve been looking for!” I swear I scour ravelry, but you always find ✨the one✨
(This time it’s basically all the patterns from Iris H)
I just finished my braidy loops! Highly recommend! She includes diagrams which were super helpful to me because I've never knit a saddle shoulder before. Once you get the general gist it's not hard at all, I love how mine came out. I really want to make the cardigan version too but oh girl I don't want to do that much purling
ОтветитьYesss Maddie is back!!!! :3
Got so obsessed with the Polly cardi you were wearing in the Flock video, I'm currently working on one <3
Such a great collection! Also as an art history major, you nailed the pronunciation of Matisse.
