Could you have used a WAGO for the ground wires instead of that fancy twist connector?
Ответитьgreat video, but in my 40 years as an electrician, I have NEVER seen an outlet melt before the wires do. If the load is too great for the wires, the PROPERLY installed circuit breaker would trip out long before the outlet melts.
ОтветитьHow do you wire up another outlet behind a TV from a middle run outlet?
ОтветитьSuper!!! Very clear explanation
ОтветитьVery helpful but what I need is instruction on how to add a receptacle from a middle-of-a-run receptacle. Like from the middle of three receptacles in my TV room to an additional receptacle straight up from the middle one, around 48 inches, for my TV. I assume it’s the same. Just have to get the right wire nuts? Thanks.
ОтветитьLet the war begin. Wire nut or wago. Wago for the win if you ask me. I hate wire nuts
Ответитьwhere do i get an extra piece of white and black wire to connect the orange box to the outlet
ОтветитьExcellent explanation. You are God sent.
ОтветитьThank you very much.
ОтветитьIs there a limit to the amount of outlets you can run on that breaker
Ответитьis it a 2 or 3 lever connector for the blacks? 3 wires are connected but looks to me it was the 2 lever one was used. It is not something I couldn't find.
ОтветитьSo no need to upgrade the breaker when doing this?
ОтветитьHow do you add an out let plug from a light switch?
ОтветитьHow do you add an out let plug from a light switch?
ОтветитьHow about if you add an extra plug to a light switch?
ОтветитьWhat a great explanation. Clear, concise. It's a gift to be able to do that. Thank you.
ОтветитьIs there a limit of how many outlets you can Daisy chain?
ОтветитьHow many of these can you link together safely? Thank you for the video. Very straightforward and easy to follow.
ОтветитьCan this be done with a 240V outlet?
ОтветитьIs it okay/safe to run a second outlet off of the newly added one? Almost like leapfrogging? Say, for example, run a 3rd outlet off of the new one you just installed in this video?
ОтветитьMy Man, you can't just turn 2 black wires in to 3 and not tell us which black is going where
ОтветитьThanks handy DAD
Ответитьwow cool video. will it be the same steps to add an outdoor outlet, same conections?
ОтветитьCan this same method be used to add a double (side by side) outlet. I just want to have 4 plugs instead of 2.
ОтветитьNice.
ОтветитьGreat video !! and what if you need two new outlets. Do you just do the same on the new outlet ?
ОтветитьGreat illustration
ОтветитьThank you for the details, it just helped me!!!
ОтветитьGreat vid. Where can I find the wago
ОтветитьThanks for keeping it simple and clear. Enjoyed the explanation as to why as well. A fan.
ОтветитьWhy pigtails can't you just go off the bottom screws on the first outlet
ОтветитьRemodeling our RV and this video was just what I was looking for. Thanks
ОтветитьCan this be done with an existing 220 outlet the same way?
ОтветитьGreat info. Could you also provide some info on how to measure the load on the circuit before & after adding additional wall sockets?
ОтветитьGreat explanation with real wires and real outlets. Very helpful.
ОтветитьAmateur question but where did you get the short "extra" wires for the lever nuts? *All of the hardware places by my house want me to buy a giant rolls when it looks like I only need 6 in of each 😭😭
ОтветитьThank you very much! Exactly what I needed to know. Easy enough!
ОтветитьJust completed adding an outlet for my flatscreen behind the tv.
Your video walked me right through it perfectly. I tested everything and it was perfect.
Thank you
I have a question, what if the existing outlet has all screws currently full? It was an outlet over a wet bar I removed and will use it to install tv above fireplace, but I need to add an outlet for an electric fireplace insert as I'm converting from traditional fireplace i'm sealing off and installing a 60" modern electric one. Do I back out one white and black and put them into a wago and run new line to fireplace from those? I'm a lil confused. Thank You, I'm subscribing now!
ОтветитьThank you for your video! I was able to get some new outlets in our garage 👍😎
ОтветитьThank you for a straight to the point tutorial. You're a very good teacher/instructor. Greetings to you and your family.
ОтветитьOr browns luv Gold and whites love silver!
ОтветитьQuestion 🙋 but what wrong with the wire crew ⚱
ОтветитьJust wondering why the wago 221 connector cannot be used for the ground. Doesn't it work the same way?
ОтветитьThe original outlet is on a switch. I want the new one to be constant power. Do I follow the same steps you just outlined? Video is very well done, btw! Thank you!
ОтветитьI have a room with 1 outlet only, can I add 3 more outlet throughout the room by connecting one after the other like the one you showed in the video? Then can I add a switch to control my ceiling light? Would that be safe from one 15 amp circuit breaker? And if one outlet got bad, will other ones and light switch still working? Thanks
ОтветитьSo well explained.
Ответитьshould we use GCFI outlet or regular outlet for the new one?
ОтветитьGreat video. Exactly what I needed to see. Love the wago
Ответитьgood morning Dad! Love the video. I have a question on a slightly different application of this. I need to add a 24 volt transformer somewhere in the basement so I can run a "C" wire to my new smart thermostat. can I add a transformer down stream of an outlet just like you show here? I don't think that's a problem, right? Then I will simply run my new 24v hot wire from the transformer to my thermostat and that will be that.
