I think the "can you daily it" question is pretty subjective too. My gu patrol is fkn loud, music helps but a lot of people would choose a different car. 74dB at idle and 86dB @ 100 kmph
ОтветитьFirst
ОтветитьI drive it daily because im a sick carnt
ОтветитьHave a look at your fan hub bearing you can get bearings for those or buy a ba falcon water pump and change the bearing over innto your landy timing case
ОтветитьIve run 35 on the defender. Allways bearings going loose. Ive since gone oil feed hubs and i dont get loose bearings anymore
ОтветитьWith the lt230 get yourself a extended sump because its aluminium bolted to aluminium.
The o ring will leak eventually. You can replace it of get the sleeve mod installed.
I tend to get a drip on the rear brake drum on the transfercase. After a few attempts fixing it ive installed a speedy sleeve on the output flange. It makes it slightly larger and compensates for the movement of the rollerbearing-thats just my opinion.
Carry a spare lift pump with three gaskets and longer bolts. Three gaskets are the optimim thickness. You need also a 1/4 socket set to replace them to avoid not taking injector lines out.
I would recommend the twin intake aswell
Sidetracked Australia - reinforcing Jeep and Land Rover reliability stereotypes since 2018 😂
ОтветитьThought you had a new member of the team at first.
ОтветитьWell Done! Send it!!
ОтветитьLoved the Q&A on the Defender… owning 2 of them myself (Tdi300 & Tdci Puma) I love them as a tourer and my Tdi300 is also my daily driver. It’s fine as a daily but as u mentioned I’m only running 32in tyres and it’s been fine. No AC though but u get use to it plus the front vents work well as long as you’re moving…
Can’t wait to see yours on a Trip since your latest mods…
i almost got the 300 tdi motor so glade i went with the td5 330,000km on it and haven't had any trouble i did get a nanocom just incise they go good with a stage 2 tune .
My dad and my uncle both have 300 tdi's and both have snapped there timing belts and done a bit of damage
My mind is blown, who is this man that speaks like Mark 😂
Miss the beard, but love the content.
N1 lads x
if you were going to go 33" i'd recommend 255/85r16. not a lot of choice in that size, however they are basically 33" cheese cutters, same width as a 265/75r16 but taller than a 285/75r16 and not to mention lighter. Though, I'm runnning them on a +6 offset on a perentie and they sit flush with the standard wheel arches, so i'd assume you'll probably end up going with the 285's due to your current extended wheel arches.
Also, if you get a chance i'd love to see a small video about how you made the sunvisors, how they are going for you and if you would recommend doing it.
Cheers.
Fark, whos the new guy?!😅
Ответитьwhat gears vor the rear axle did u use? Where i kan find them? I would need them for my axle
ОтветитьIf you can get a hold of a later model 110 rear axle with the short nose diff (2002 onwards), that might be a better option. They have a four pin diff standard and Ashcroft does a locker for them too. I’ve done this for my 97 300tdi 110 and it’s been so much better and cheaper to find parts.
ОтветитьAshcroft tough as, the old Macnamara 🎉🎉👍👍
ОтветитьLook it's horses for courses, if you ditch the roof rack, RTT lights up top it will feel a lot less tippy.
Obviously don't have all that gear then but it will perform a lot better.
With gears, lockers this thing will be a long way better!
A sucker for punishment from a Jeep to a LR lol pain for years
ОтветитьExcellent Q&A. Thanks for the Update on the Landy and how you got it home.
ОтветитьAs mentioned, had a 300tdi, stick to 255 85, get some power back and less stress on a not very strong tranmission, can upgrade but will be chasing upgrades forever. Excellent off roader.
ОтветитьAgree with how you have travelled on this road, good choices. Pleasing to see you have realised the folly of 35 inch tyres, unlike the uneducated big is better party. In terms of rear diff lock, I guess you could have swapped out for a short nose 110 diff and then have the ashcroft fitted to that. Would be out of trouble for around 2K. There is a ATB centre diff LSD available from Ashcroft for the LT230, and all driving reports are very much in favour of this modification.
Ответитьholly crap didn't recognize you Marco!!! looks way better mate without the token man beard face look everyone is trying to pull off at the moment.
ОтветитьCould have saved a dollar or 2 and got a patrol haha
ОтветитьHow do they know the pistons arn`t compromised ?
ОтветитьI would of gone detroit in the rear at least
ОтветитьHow is the wrap holding up?
