I had to move to LA for work related reasons , and I can confirm , this is the worst place to live in the USA by far. Mostly due to traffic and costs. The cost of rent for what you get is unjustifiable

I live in the LA area and was looking at rentals in Charleston, SC last night, and the prices there weren't that far removed from leices here. The climate here is mild, there are wide aidewalks, and yet you never see people walking anywhere

Just got back from LA 2 days ago and I will never return to this shithole ever again. I thought it was a myth when people bash on this city, but after spending 8 days visiting family there, holy shit bums and trashes were everywhere.

Ex Angelino here, I remember having a 1.5 hour commute to work at 19.5 miles in the late 90s. Traffic is so bad because of the mexicans and orientals. Think about it, they were riding donkeys less than 1 week ago. They come to LA and will get a drivers license immediately. During the 80s and early 90s, LA was the place to be in spite of it's downward trend of liberal, leftist politics. Hell, the cops used to pull us over and tell us to pour the beer out. At 18 years of age, I rented a 2 bedroom, 1.5 bathroom apartment in a decent area.

Definitely the people that ruin the city, the people are too angry and can't stay in their lanes it's like you can't cruise and enjoy the weather because you have to constantly watch out for other cars drifting in your lane. San Diego is way better than Los Angeles, I'm definitely moving back.

Unless you're filthy rich and/or an extremely toxic and narcissistic person. There is no reason to move there. One of the shallowest and most cutthroat places you will ever visit in your life. It is however the perfect place to go and humiliate yourself if you already have SOME money and delusional dreams.

This is interesting because me and my 5 roommates moved from born in Boise, ID and moved to LA, CA last year in January. We wanted to work in the entertainment industry (film/TV industry). We understand that CA is really expensive to live. But living in ID was the worst state ever. “Don’t CA My ID” is the worst phase we have ever heard.
