Robin Kimbrough Hayes was raised in a trailer park in Lexington, Kentucky where she and her mother were the only black people in the trailer park. Realizing greater opportunities were waiting for her Judge Hayes went on to pursue a bachelor's degree from Fisk University in 1992, a J.D. from Emory School of Law in 1995, and a master's degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School in 2000. Her career experience includes working as a chaplain and licensed attorney and now a judge!
