This was great!
After having my piggies around 4 months now I have settled on fleece, (a mixture of guinea dad and others) I put a large cat litter tray with a layer of pine shavings and hay under their hay bags. Since doing this they tend to predominantly pee there and in one other area which I put additional pee pads/fleece. Now that I’ve got it all sussed out it makes life a lot easier as I only have to do a big clean once a week!

The pine has to be kiln dried in order for it to be safe 🥰

We tried fleece liners at one point but one of our piggies, Peanut, who was usually mostly white, turned yellow. So we switched back to pine bedding.

I’m nervous if my cage isn’t big enough I have two male guinea pigs and in the summer I have a giant outdoor cage but it’s so cold in winter I bring them in. I put them in a triple layer cage is it big enoug?

I wouldn't use any especially with the boys its risk theor will get some of bedding stuck in their sack and in general it smells bed

Such good information! I find that a slightly used fleece works better than brand new maybe because it is washed more the water soaks in better.

I am very happy with kiln dried pine shavings. Messy to use but they keep my boys dry and clean. 😊

I’ve observed that Small Pet Select (my personal favorite brand) does not have a way to seal the package of disposable bedding once opened. Do you recommend sealing the bag after opened or transferring the bedding to another type of container?
I haven’t yet run in to any problems with leaving the bag open, but I want to make sure that doing so is safe.

The pine must say kiln dried . Just pine is dusty and will cause your piggy to get an upper respiratory infection. Vet bills are very expensive. She should have said this!!

This is a super helpful video - I had to switch from fleece to a loose substrate in my piggies' hay area (2x2 c&c grids) as I was struggling to keep up with the maintenance of the liners I was using. This definitely helped me come to a decision :')
