The old discs that were on it were vented. Not sure why you suggested it was an Upgrade.

I have a 2016 skoda fabia estate with the 1.0mpi because the engine bay can have anything from the 1.0mpi or tsi to a 2.0 turbo diesel with the MPI engine it's got so much space so I took the airbox off and made a 90 degree pipe run down the front of the engine closer to the grill and stuck a cone filter on it and with a stright pipe these engines can sound like a little race car

The K&N air filter will do nothing for performance, but it kinda pays for it self bc u can just wash it and reuse it

its a lot lot easier to remove the airbox then change the filter, thats how vw does it!

Just so everyone knows..... with turbos you can't just pick any turbo, be sensible like MCM.
If you go to big you get stall .....this isn't the shaft stalling it's the charge behaviour.
Basically you have a minimum flow to pressure ratio, if you don't have the flow but get pressure you get the chuff chuffs!
This is a reason for compounding beyond just reducing lag .......

I own an Up, and I must say it's the best car I've ever owned. Definately not ugly or boring as you claim. It's not the fastest car in the world, but it's spectacular and well-built.
