Your visual presentation was quite lame where you left out some very basic easily procured historical films during Pinochet's regime. You report that he rose to an almost saintlike persona yet failed to show one single photo, statue, or painting as evidence (many pro-Pinochet Chileans still place his image among the saints on a homemade altar. You spend too much time covering the economy but leaving the daily life of Chileans during his terms nor present some of Chile's famous military parades still sporting German helmets and equipment.

The debate surrounding Augusto Pinochet and Chile's free market policies can be controversial, but it is essential to distinguish fact from fiction.
Pinochet seized power through a military coup in 1973, deposing and killing the democratically elected government of Salvador Allende. His regime was characterized by human rights violations, such as torture and the forced disappearance of political opponents.
During the Pinochet regime, Chile experienced a phase of economic liberalization characterized by the implementation of free market policies, including deregulation, privatization and trade liberalization. Although these policies stimulated economic growth, they also exacerbated inequality.
It should be noted that copper played a crucial role in Chile's economy during this period. Copper exports have been an important economic engine for Chile, accounting for more than 50% of the country's exports. Despite the changes in government, fluctuations in copper prices have not had a significant impact on the Chilean economy.
Income inequality has long been a major concern for policymakers and the public, even though economic growth has improved the standard of living for many citizens. However, there is still a wide gap between the rich and the rest of the population. This inequality has a social and political significance, giving rise to various protests and movements fighting for more justice.
Education is a crucial element in combating inequality and, as you mentioned, obtaining a quality education has been a controversial issue. In Chile, the education system has a history of inequality in the distribution of funding, the quality of education and access. Efforts have been made to improve the inclusiveness and equity of the education system, including modifying funding mechanisms, and increasing public investment.
It is possible that if Salvador Allende's democratic socialist government had not been removed from power, Chile would have followed a different economic path. Allende enacted policies of nationalization of industries and pursued an agenda of social reforms that met with opposition from various sectors, including economic elites and international interests. Speculating on how the Chilean economy would have developed under his leadership is a complex and speculative matter. It could have led to a more equitable distribution of wealth, but it could also have faced significant economic challenges, given the circumstances of the time.
Facts about Cupper,
1-Chilean Copper Production: Chile is the world's largest producer of copper, contributing to over one-third of the world's copper production.
2-Key Mining Operations: The country's copper production is primarily derived from key mining operations such as Chuquicamata, Escondida, Collahuasi, and El Teniente, among others.
3-Significant Copper Exports: Copper exports play a crucial role in Chile's economy, typically representing a substantial portion of the country's total exports.
4-Economic Impact: Revenue generated from copper exports significantly contributes to Chile's economic stability and supports infrastructure and development projects.
5-Global Influence: Chile's prominent position in copper production and exports gives the country substantial influence in global metal markets.
6-Price Fluctuations: Fluctuations in copper prices can have profound effects, not only on the Chilean economy but also on international metal markets.
7-Economic Significance: The performance of the copper sector is of paramount importance to both Chile's economy and the global metal industry.
Facts about Pinochet
1-Coup and Rise to Power: Pinochet came to power on September 11, 1973, through a military coup that ousted the democratically elected President Salvador Allende. He assumed control of Chile as the head of the military junta.
2-Military Rule: Pinochet's rule was characterized by a military dictatorship that lasted for 17 years, making it one of the longest-running military regimes in Latin American history.
3-Human Rights Violations: The Pinochet regime was notorious for its human rights abuses, including widespread torture, disappearances, and extrajudicial executions of political opponents. Thousands of Chileans suffered under his authoritarian rule.
4-Economic Policies: Pinochet implemented neoliberal economic policies during his tenure, which included privatization of state-owned enterprises, deregulation, and trade liberalization. These policies brought about economic growth but also increased income inequality in Chile.
5- Legal Issues: After leaving office, Pinochet faced legal challenges both in Chile and internationally for human rights violations committed during his regime. He was arrested in the United Kingdom in 1998 but was later released due to health reasons. He faced several legal proceedings in Chile as well.
6-Legacy: Pinochet's legacy remains highly controversial in Chile. While some credit him with stabilizing the economy, others condemn the human rights abuses that occurred under his rule. The impact of his regime continues to influence Chilean politics and society.
Facts about Chile's inequality and education
1-High Levels of Educational Inequality: Chile has one of the highest levels of educational inequality among OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) countries. This inequality is often attributed to a dual education system, which includes both publicly funded and private schools.
2-Unequal Access to Quality Education: Chilean students attending private schools tend to have better access to quality education in terms of facilities, resources, and teacher qualifications compared to those in public schools. Public schools often face resource shortages and lower funding.
3-Segregation in Education: The Chilean education system has been criticized for perpetuating social and economic segregation. Many students from lower-income families attend public schools, while those from more affluent backgrounds attend private schools. This segregation is seen as a barrier to social mobility.
4-Student Protests: In recent years, Chile has seen widespread student protests advocating for educational reform. These protests have called for greater public investment in education, reduced tuition fees at universities, and improved access to quality education for all, irrespective of socio-economic background.
5-Reforms in Education: Chile has implemented some reforms in response to the protests and concerns about inequality. These reforms include changes in university financing, measures to improve the quality of education in public schools, and efforts to reduce the cost of education for students.
6-Inequality in Higher Education: Access to higher education in Chile has been marked by significant disparities. While there has been an increase in the number of students attending university, affordability remains a concern, and access to quality higher education can still depend on socio-economic factors.
7-Government Initiatives: The Chilean government has taken steps to address educational inequality, such as expanding early childhood education programs, increasing funding for public schools, and introducing policies to make higher education more accessible for low-income students.
8-PISA Scores: Chile's performance in international assessments such as the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA) has highlighted educational disparities. Students from disadvantaged backgrounds tend to score lower on these assessments compared to their more privileged peers.
9-Teacher Quality: Improving the quality of teaching and teacher training is seen as an essential element in addressing educational inequality in Chile.

I'm Greek. Here in Greece, the last Communist country of Europe( that's not a joke), they make us propaganda against Pinochet!
I know only one thing: *If you're a Marxist-means Orthodox communist like Stalin and Lenin- you have to fight against the meaning of Nation,of Religion, of Ancestors,of the great Greek Civilization, 'cause you've to be a New Citizen: *The Soviet Citizen!!! No Nation, no Religion, no Race( gender).
This is a high treason against Greece. Penalty must be: Death. 😠
Back in 1944, English-Americans DIDN'T LET US EXECUTE COMMUNIST TRAITORS: From one side, British were enemies with Communists but HERE IS THE PARADOX: THEY DIDN'T LET US TO PUNISH THEM WITH DEATH PENALTY and the same time... they did support them cause of their own interests!!! And finally, this suspicious British behavior led us in Civil War!!! Today, EE has other Agenda: She applies a new meta- communism ideology without Nation, Religion, Race in favor of A New World Order...
Conclusion are yours,

Well.. whom was killing Pinochet? People who loved their Country, their Nation, their Faith, their Customs? Who;.. Maybe Communists and pseudo- democrates; In Greece, we have very bitter memories from all this kind of people: Communists, in 1944, killed more Greeks THAN GERMANS!!! And when we say: "killed", we mean slaughter with cans.. How do you say it: tins! Many thousands dead, especially priests. Because they denied to accept Communism: Backlash! Basically they slaughtered everybody who was not following them!!! So, WHOM killed by Pinochet? Except if Chile communists are Patriots but this is opposite to Marxism 'cause you fight for the Nation of Workers, not the Nation of Chilean: That is against the Revolution and Capitalistic!!!
On another movie with many prizes, i saw these people" of peace and progress" knowing to use Morse signs!!! I'm 61 and i dont know Morse.. How a teacher of peace loving, carry a gun and knows Morse?? Mercy please...

Viva Chile!!!
Vivan nuestras fuerzas armadas!!!!!
Viva carabineros!!!
Esa es mi opinión.

I love these documentaries tbh
I would love to see documentaries on "Papa Doc" François Duvalier and Rafael Trujillo. Two very interesting Latin American dictators. I actually had family living in the Dominican Republic when Trujillo was in power. My great grandmother escaped Europe in the 1940s because she was Jewish and the Nazis were after her. She ended up the Dominican Republic because they were the only country accepting refugees with our papers. I still have family there today.
