Plane Wreck in the 100 Mile Wilderness - Appalachian Trail Thru Hike 2025 / 2024 Day 10

Appalachian Trail thru hike Day 10:
There is an interesting plane wreck of a 1984 Bellanca Citabria on the South side of Chairback 4th Mountain. The AT was rerouted and now passes right by the site. Occupants survived and hiked out. My plan was for a 15.8 mile day, with more elevation gain and loss than I’ve done so far. My mind wanted me to stop at the shelter at 12 miles…which was difficult to overcome. There were many beautiful views today, as well as an unexpected fording, a squall, and super wet leaves on a talus field. Lesson of the day was get comfortable being uncomfortable.
