SAA has appointed General Manager of Operations Zukisa Ramasia as acting CEO.
This is after Vuyani Jarana tendered his resignition citing uncertainty around funding and slow decision making processes - delaying the airline's turnaround strategy - as key reasons for his departure.
Jarana was supposed to serve notice until the end of August, but the board says they have reached a mutual agreement for him to vacate office as of Monday 10th June.
SAA says the search for a permanent CEO has commenced and they look domestically and globally for a suitable candidate.
