The first car in the word to obscure its wiper spindels under the bonnet ?
It wasn't. GM was doing that in 67- 68 with its full sized chevies, Cadillacs etc.
They should had used flex tape
Ответить'The car was hidden from view'
:Clearly reversing
Absolutely lovely
I got up somthing like that in the ice in my cheap car
It took a few attempts
I got up the Hill but then was slamming it into the snow drifts at high revs that ripped my exhaust off and after digging it out and raming my way though deep snow in a bog standard Peugeot 206 i eventually blew the head gasket from making it scream on the same road
snow drifting is too much fun
Giant steep hill climbs
Feel like ramping it to space
They do in the snow anyway
Great fun
James’ number plate spelling, dad, sums him up perfectly
Ответить“He’s brought a piece of cheese”
And thus James May’s cheese-filled saga begins.
I love how Richard gets cars as small as him 😂
ОтветитьIs it only me or someone else also noticed that numberplate of May is ''DAD'😂😂
ОтветитьYou don't even have to write the joke when the car's a 'Dolomite'
ОтветитьMy 1976 Chevy Malibu had the windscreen wipers obscured under the hood or bonnet, 2 years before that Austin

ОтветитьOne of best cheap car challenges! Also when they set fire to a car wash with converted Renault.
ОтветитьLapped by captain slow
ОтветитьHow lucky they were filming Jeremy's car at the perfect angle when the door came off! That has got to be one of the funniest unscripted moments in television history. Jeremy is just driving along and the door completely falls off! The water must have loosened all the bolts and unhooked all the cables somehow. Then Jeremy yells "the damn doors come off!" because he had no idea that was going to happen! When it comes to spontaneous unscripted events on television this has to be in top 10 of all time!
Ответитьwonderful
ОтветитьIn india this car was named as standard 2000❤
Ответитьcomplètement singler
ОтветитьOnly missing the cobbled road test with the eggs and clarkson opening his rovers door and the trim staying put😂

ОтветитьI remember someone saying something about our cars to the effect of: "fantastic cars, and brilliant designs when they work. The trouble is they always get built with the cheapest most dodgy parts they can find." The only reliable domestic UK manufacturer was Ford Europe. And that says a lot since it's a subdivision of an American Company lol. TVRs were all hand built and yet were horribly unreliable. MG and Rover used 20 year old car parts in their 80s cars. (Metro Turbo had a 1965 Mini Cooper S 4-speed Manual for instance) Austins all broke down because of terrible engines and fell apart at the seams, etc. Etc. Is it any wonder our domestic car industry is on its face when businesses always put cost cutting before quality control and reliability?
ОтветитьAs always Top gear doing important research , doing the lords work
