I have had only bad experiences with VPNs and streaming services. Vast majority of the big ones either blocks you, or straight up sees where you are anyway, regardless through where you are connected.

I like having newer tech and the features they sometimes have so I always sell my used for phone for 400-500€ and I add another 100€ cash to buy a slightly used 6-8 month old flagship. I never worry about my battery since it's never older than a year and I get the "benefits" of having a newer phone every year without spending a lot of money.
