I can not imagine the nutmeg is a nice addition. In general, I do not understand why people use nutmeg so much. However, to fairly judge, I need to make one myself. I count that as a valid excuse :p

You probably don't even read the comments anymore after so long, but just wanted to say I looked up a recipe for Pina Colada and totally went down the rabbit hole because of your videos. I made the Pina Colada yesterdat and just made the Painkiller and absolutely loved both of them! So thanks, next weekend I will look up some other cocktails you made

This drink transports me to a better place. I've made this drink for many of my friends and they always feel the same. I have to re-watch this video routinely in order to make it correctly. Perhaps, one day, I will meet you in Jost Van Dyke and invite you back to my yacht. No, that's not happening....

Just made my first painkiller but my orange trees do not have any fruit so I went out to my lime/tangerine hybrid and squeezed some of them instead and holy hell is it amazing.

As this drink in particular accompanied me/us for the last two years, it's time for a "Thank you, Greg" :) this is simply awesome.
I would advise to also try leaving out the orange juice and replace it with the juice of half a lemon and one egg white. Dry shake with spiral first, then add ice cubes (just big ones to cool it down, not water it) and shake further.
Thank me later.. ;)
Cheers from Germany
Tobi

I’ve followed this recipe to a “T” and it was delicious. I tend to use Sailor Jerry as as its a higher proof and fits the nautical theme. Also a little cheaper. Love this drink and show.

I discovered this drink one afternoon at an open air bar called something like 'the Iguana Cafe' in Mongoose Jct, St Johns, USVI. The wife was shopping, and I was enjoying the warm November breeze. An hour or three later, it occurred to me I had no idea where my wife was, or where I was, or how it had come about that I was sitting in some tiny open air lizard themed bar. For you see, I was in no pain. It had been completely killed. Thereafter, I only drink painkillers when I'm on St Johns. I've never been back. That's probably for the best.

Nice! First cocktail I made from your channel. In Easter EU it's difficult to get ingredients from most of your videos and I used Havana Club and Santa Maria coco cream for this one. Pretty damn good, 7/10. When I'm in West EU I'll definitely try to re-create this one exactly how you made it.

Just found your channel. I love it! I'm going obsessively through old episodes and have heard you say a few times that creme of coconut is a lot of work though. It's not. It's not more work than simple syrup.
Of course, it's been three years since this video and I'm sure you know this by now... but I just wanted to comment so anyone reading the comment section knows. Not that a can of Coco Lopez is a huge investment, but homemade costs 4x less and tastes 4x better.

Hello, please help me out of my confusion, if
1oz of cream of conocut is 30ml
1oz of orange juice is also 30ml
2oz of rum is 60ml
than how can 4oz of pineapple juice be 240ml
as an American you work in oz I pressume, does that make the oz ratio the correct one?
Thanks for the content I really enjoy watching you making drinks and getting drunk.

A while back I learned about a drink called a painkiller and looked it up. That search brought me to this episode and I've been watching ever since! Love the channel, love the drinks you teach us how to make, and love the culture around the channel! Thanks for helping us learn more about what's out there. I've been a neat whiskey guy for a while as well, but having a cocktail here and there is really nice.

I thoroughly enjoy learning and this channel scratches that itch with great commentary and awesome personality. Keep it up, Greg!

It looks like the ml measure of pineapple juice in the description is doubled.
Description says 240 ml. but it's 120 ml. in the video. 120 ml. also measures up when converted from oz to ml.
Seems like an honest mistake, so just remember, if you're using metric, use 120 ml. not 240.

Could you do an episode on making something like this, but on a larger scale? To serve multiple people at a party.

This drink was great, one of the most accessible of your recipes I've tried so far.
