VR Tips and Tricks I've Learned after 5000 Hours in VR

Something I would like to learn is how to get rid of the outside black ring when playing a game. Whenever I play the outer ring face protecter thing always breaks the immersion.

Body Movement like your "Challenge" is actually how I avoid motion sickness. I use an office chair with a pedestal base instead of wheels, and turn in the chair.

I took the face pad off completely on my oculus and it’s awesome. It does trap hair easily which tickles my nose in the most awkward of times. 😂

Does polywatch work with Q3? Scratched my lens on the first day with my glasses -_-

Protip: Don’t use the glasses spacer, at all. I have big glasses and without the spacer they fit perfectly, and i get some more FOV. It’s more comfortable too.

Less than a week into VR and I was searching the center of the room actively, using a fan from day 1, not using the right stick from day 2...

ive been not touching the right thumbstick since the very beginning, its so immersion-breaking for me

iv always done irl turning only. iv gotten used to it. i reccently tried thumbstick turning and i dislicked it at first but it is helpful if im sitting down so i keep it on.

since i don't have a pc i play games with locomotion. the only two games that i need toggle to move is noclipvr and pavlov shack beta witch i always move my body physically than right toggle because most of the time toggle movement in games is slow

What I do is, I have the option in settings turned on that when i glance at the floor, it'll show my guardian outline that I drew. And when I draw my guardian outlines what I do is in certain little areas I'll put little warts on the guardian itself to either dictate where my computer is or something like that. It's not big enough to actually make any difference in your guardian so you won't walk over there but it's easy just to look down, see your guardian drawing and see where that little Ward is and then boom now you know where you are in your room

Tip 2 don’t sandpaper your lenses to get better quality

Do people actually use snap turn, it seems so nauseating

I want a vr headset so bad. i have wanted one for years now but i dont have any money.

I already play like this, and every time I find a game with snap/smooth turn I look for a way to turn it off. Way too many games don't give you the option to turn it off, and maybe remap that control to something more useful. I hate turning the avatar separate from the player!

Something I learned this week: don’t have a loose oculus on your head before you do a 360 irl or else it will fall off your head and the display will be permanently damaged and have to buy a new 350 usd oculus. Worst mistake of my life.

The tip to turn without the right stick is also good for keeping yourself less motion sick I don’t feel comfortable using the stick to turn at all
