The powder coat on all metal is because snow from your boots will rot the floor, and water and road salt will guaranteed get past any seal and rot the battery top/floor. I have driven in 50 Michigan winters, I do know. They are going to need air vents and water drain holes.

The floor/no-floor is an achievement but maybe this achievement is responsible for body low frequency noises when tires run over any road bumps. Could you tell if the battery pack assembly has any center deflection?

So structural battery back will be a throw away in case of a failure. Is it worth few hundred dollars of savings upfront?
Legacy model S/X packs can be opened and failed modules replaced.

Can you please exploit the stress points of these model types? What are the other structure points that are secured to the 2 gigacasts and battery? I see all the screw holes around the battery floor. Are there cross beams going across the cabin area, or along the roof? I'll have to see your next video to learn more.

Right now the 4680 model Y range is like 264 miles. Do you think that's a limit in the pack size? Could they do longer range with the 4680?

I'm a recovering ice Mechanic,I rented a model y for a week of vacation in Florida.

Amazing vehicle , it would take to long to explain all of my impressions.

But the model y I drove was the most capable and intelligent vehicle I have driven. The future is here and it's all about Tesla.

Are all Texas Model Ys shipped with 4680 cells? If not how does one detremin what battery pack is installed in the car?
