In case it's not obvious, the deadlift clip is an example of what NOT to do. Hence posting a video from many years ago when I didn't know anything, and explaining how brute strength doesn't necessarily equate to optimal outcomes in a hypertrophy context (or in a keeping you out of the hospital with a snapped back context).

ОтветитьSweet i have speed dumbbells so i can surf the....adjustment. i am scared to go heavy on laterals and it has held me back FOREVER even when i can bench 400 i still never got any side. My grip is the same i ignore it
So not tomorrow, right now, i will find my lateral raise weight and write it down and do it. Next workout ill add reps or weight. Over and damned over. Im ready haha
16 years of lifting mostly power and strength but recently all.

Nattys can train these areas.. they will look 'fit' and stronger than average Dad bod.. But they will Never be as Thick and Pop like yours or Jay Cutlers. being on gear does help develop those death star delts..

ОтветитьDo a bunch of side lateral raises for a pump before you make your video and angle the camera in a way that cuts off your nik nak arms and emphasizes the pump in your side delts. Not hard to see what he does people.

ОтветитьThere are indeed more androgen receptors in the shoulders for men. Thus, more free testosterone floating around, more developed delts. Too bad legs aren't as dense in receptors.

Im struggling on the mind muscle connection part with a lot of movements because im not always feeling it in the correct places when doing certain movements especially a lot of back training. But i am trying to get it with every set it just doesn't always seem to connect
ОтветитьI built mine but ending up hurt later on. Bench, military presses "mistake" going heavy, lateral raises by higher volume, Arnold rear shoulder exercise. My shoulders gotten so big my from my thumb to the small figure still couldn't cover it.. I didn't anything much different but focused on trap, shoulders, & neck. Nice video! I did some of the exercises you shown...I alway changed the exercises & the raise I stayed away from the heavier weight. My shoulders & traps always grown easy. Even in school my traps & shoulders were stronger than the other lifters... just subscribed

ОтветитьFor anyone else like me who loves these videos but wants the key points:
1. Progressive overload and drop sets - strength and pump...work to failure
2. No ego lifting - focus on lower weight, feeling it including e-centric stretch and not just moving the weight. Increase weight from there with great form. Pump with progressive overload = optimized hypertrophy
3. Dedicated shoulder workout/day - not necessary but probably a good idea
4. Work all 3 sides of the delt, especially rear delt
5. Androgen response - maximize your genetics
The way he trains just prove that being on a shit ton of gear gives someone 4x an advantage.

ОтветитьRight on bro. I’ve done both powerlifting and P90X (more of a bodybuilding routine), and I noticed while powerlifting, sure I could lift heavier, but my endurance was crap. Nowadays I do this, less weight, better form, feel the muscles activate and more reps. Endurance goes through the roof and I look just as good, if not better.

ОтветитьI’ve noticed hitting shoulders with high intensity relatively low set volumes twice a week has helped (as a natty) to blow them up since I’m still able to hit them hard without absolutely fucking my recovery.

ОтветитьWhat Derek talks about when it comes to "feeling" your muscles is being interoceptive. Andrew Huberman talks about this. One thing that MASSIVELY increases your interoceptiveness is marijuana. You can feel every single muscle in your body with a little bit of pot. It's pretty incredible. Super useful for figuring this kind of shit out. Also very useful if you have an injury and are trying to stretch and figure out how to fix it.
