GTX 1060 vs RTX 2060 vs RTX 3060 vs RTX 4060 - Test in 8 Games

2060 쓰는데 옵션 타협해서 쓰면 5년은 더 쓸 수 있겠다.

I've had a GTX 1060 (6GB) since 2016 and I'm still wondering what to buy because so far these new low-end 4xxx versions are a mistake!
Can you advise me what to buy? My computer is an AMD R7 3800x B450 GB AORUS PRO motherboard and 16 GB RAM at 3200 MHz, but I can buy a second 16 GB RAM. Thank you for your answer. Anyway, I mean, for example, cards from the 3xxx or 4xxx series because I don't want 2xxx.

The real 4060 is sold under the alias of 4070 at $750 (at least here) ...this 4060 is actually the 4050 in every respect... but it could be the 4030 too with that performance... it will be a nice replacement to the now aging 1030...

So on average from the 1060 to the 4060 there was a 100% jump to the 2060 then 20% to the 3060 then 10% to the 4060... 100% -> 20% -> 10% ...what a joke...

by all graphs, 3060 should have had the 4060 performance, and 4060 should have been somewhere inbetween 4060ti and 4070. and rtx2000 was regarded as a terrible price/perf generation.

The 4060 and especially 4060ti are utterly pathetic offerings ... even more so when you factor in the price compared to last gen and the competing brand at the same performance. What an embarrassment. Nvidia has completely lost the plot.

Just look at the power usage of rtx 4060, in some games it is also comparable to the 2016 gtx 1060

I upgraded from 1060-6 to 3060-12 and the only case when I got advantage about 2.44 times wus Unigine Superposition bench extreme profile. 1.88 time in High profile and from 1.67 in games. Ryzen 5 3600X and it can be the bottleneck.

Если есть 3060, то менять её на 4060 нет смысла. А вот если собирать ПК новый, то да, лучше 4060 тогда покупать.

The 30 to 40 jump is kinda pointless but from 20 to 40 makes a bunch of sense. You'll probably be using less power on the 40 as well. The 40 gens get a bunch of hate but jumping one generation is for the less than 1% that actually want to upgrade every couple of years.

That being said... I'm really looking forward to the 60 series. Maybe 50.

The power consumption on 40 series is impressive. It may not be that much faster than 3060, but that’s still something. My 1660 is still holding up and will proibsbly upgrade when 5060 comes out in couple years

If you make this test in 4 years, the RTX 3060 will be the best one. 12GB VRAM

The difference between 3060 and 4060 is a joke. NVIDIA was spoiled.
With cards released in 4000 series plastation size. I have called this series garbage with the 4060 that came out with 8 gb ram bottleneck.

I get everyone's issue with the little amount of uplift FPS wise from the 3060 to the 4060, there have certainly been far better jumps in 60 class GPUS. But I at least like the direction they've gone with power draw. It was a concern of mine with the Turing and Ampere based cards, though I'm sure I'm one of very few. As for the $300 price tag, that's not too bad either, I think the 1060 was about 249 or 299? even at 249, adjusted for modern inflation it's a fair price, and CHEAPER than both the 2060 and 3060 (if you actually could get one for msrp.) There are other things to like about the card other than FPS numbers.

Nice to see! Biggest win on the 40-serie over the 30-serie is not really the 'slightly more' frames, but it uses clearly Less Power!. On average around 50 Watts. Thats good I guess.
Just hope on the 50-series they dont just put in more power to get more frames.... stick to the less power solutions please.
