Noctua says the LCP material is a 20% increase in price? So, the 50-cent manufacturing cost of the blade itself now costs them 60 cents? We all know this stuff is grossly marked up. I realize there is overhead of the entire company and marketing but the difference in material on the blade is probably negligible compared to their $30/fan price tag.

The thing with lian li, is if you buy the single pack of fans, they have a proprietary connection that goes to the fan, and then splits into the standard pwm and 3pin argb. Huge time/money saver especially if you only need 3 or 4 fans

The fans make a orrible noise when running at high speed due to them not putting big enought vibration gromits on
And they blink red when gaming as if the system is overheating but it isn't actually
Icue doesn't work correctly via cooling the fans have got a mind of there own they ramp up themselves even after setting custom curves

Proprietary 'ecosystems' limit the -- I don't know -- call it piecemeal buyer market. These fan kits aren't cheap, and neither is the AIO. You're lookin at $500 or somewhere in that neighborhood. A lot of would-be customers are not spending that kind of extra dough on a build for ... lights. Or if they like the LEDs so much, they're being forced to rebuild because they switched from Lian Li to Corsair or whatever. I say it's cutting your nose of despite your face. You are gambling that you'll make more revenue off the folks willing to buy an entire solution than the untold number who might buy one or a few components, possibly becoming a fanboy if they like yours over your competitors'.

Just got my 150 aio and 7 fans today none these things come with instructions, then when putting it together knowning that i needed to switch cable! Yeah Two cables broke very poor quality, let the wonderful corsair ( terrible customer service ). So after not getting anything from Product team on if I'm going to get two new cords. I started putting it together even using the broken cords. kept on running to not all fans would light up and power on! so, one hub for 16 fans is BS, not enough power to run and the app wouldn't recognize most of the fans 10 fans and h150 RGB aio. Now after call Corsair got hold of customer service, to see if I need to hook up the fans on AIO to the aio hun or black hub. I all got was wrong department and laughing the whole time, after I told the guy your pissing me off as your laughing and website gave me your number. Just to be told wrong department make ticket and laugh at me even told guy not in good mood after waiting week and then so call new product breaking. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!!

50 bucks for a fan is getting desperate the fan is obsolete but to the masses just add rgb and give it a face lift with no performance grains, and the sheep will buy it no thanks ill pass, time for reviewers to stop enabling old tech and push these billionaire companies to start investing in new cooling methods or this door will keep revolving

I just bought the QX120 Starter Kit that comes with 3 fans and the hub (for $159.99) and Corsair only includes a single cable and not the 90 degree one. I am using these in a Corsair 4000D Airlfow case and man that non angled cable is a tight fit. I also purchased an additional QX120 for rear exhaust (very common config) and that was $49.99 and the kicker is that is DOES NOT include a cable to connect to the hub so it is basically un-usable unless physically connected to the other fans. Seriously Corsair? Corsair sells additional cables (no in stock of coarse) for $19.99 plus $9.99 shipping so I need another $30 to even use my $50 fan. I am returning everything and going with some Lian Li fans. I consider myself a bit of a Corsair fanboy (no pun intended) but this is really something else.

honestly with how cheap a mcu + wifi im surprised non have gone with a wireless solution for rgb, a small mcu would also have the benefit of offloading all the effects rather than needing to do that on the system which is where i suspect a lot of resources get used by the host machine. the apps on the pc should be no more than a switch. instead they have complex mess of programs that hog resources because they need to perform i/o with precise timings.

I love my iCUE ecosystem it currently controls 4 premium argb case fans, a 360 aio with argb fans and a lcd screen rotating through a dozen gifs, mouse and keyboard, all in sync and I have several profiles set up. I wish it could control my motherboard, graphics card, psu and ram (using tforce they look better then corsair ram) so I didnt have to use the motherboard software which is crap.

The payoff-vs-cost for RGB really isn't there. It's supposed to be a 'nice to have' bonus feature, not something that dictates your entire purchasing approach, doubles the cost of your components, and requires onerous bloatware to operate. I far prefer Noctua's approach to their fans rather than Corsair's. Maybe Noctua should get into the PSU market....

No RGB = no buy for me personally.
I’d rather more fans with more RGB.

I use an O11D XL with 3 top and 3 bottom thermaltake riing (quad?) fans and even at max speed, my 3D printer’s PSU fan and mobo cooling fan are WAY louder.

the proprietary connectors serve as more of a deterrent for me when picking parts. Corsair already had this going a bit before, and is one of the reasons that nothing in my build is made by them. Product is cool, idea is great, but since it locks me into only their stuff I will continue to not buy from them

Hopefully in the future OEMs move to using Type-C connector or something otherwise we will end up in a situation where a revision of a propertiary connector would mean previous versions are no longer compatible with newer fans. Due to the profit driven nature of the business older fans will slowly be phased out and due to the inherent nature of malware as well as the tendency of most users of not using firewalls and anti-viruses in belief that windows defender is enough Users will be running software with potential zero day exploits. Then there is the other aspect of e-waste as without the ability to control the RGB the fans will become functionally useless especially if and when older versions of propertiary software is pulled when a zero day exploit is found. For those who say windows defender is enough, gone are the days when you could tell that your PC was running slow due to malware as modern CPUs are run alot more instructions per clock (not to mention most people have blazing fast ssds and nvmes not fixed rpm drives of 5400 or 7200 which would give you an audible cue of high disk usage).

Until they all are forced into USB-C there isn't going to be a standard. And the manufacturers don't want that, resulting in kindergarten behaviour to move customers into a ecosystem. It's a bit anti-consumer, to be honest.

I bought a hub with a remote and STANDARD connections. I hooked the RGB of my case and cpu fan into the hub. Now i can change everything but the RAM and GPU with one button press. Motherboards need an ARGB control input header. (Still won't help mismatched LED colors on various parts, though. Why doesn't my Nitro+ know what ORANGE is?) 😂

Corsair iCue is crashing most of time due to a component , if you check the "Security and Maintenance" > "Maintenance" > click "View realibility history". Corsair needs to fix their software before creating new hardware.

Corsair have the temerity to require iCue to control RAM RGB. At least the motherboard manufacturers mostly agreed on 5V three pin.

The Thing is: We already have a suitable connection standard: USB. Just slap a mini PCB that handles the incoming USB data stream (with the move to 35mm fans and enclosed fan cases this gets even easier)and chain the stuff. Problem solved.

As far as I know Corsair is the only one that has come out and said they are open to licencing out their connector to their competitors which puts them ahead of their competitors. I don't care if it's open or proprietary as long as it is a standard. Thunderbolt is proprietary but also licenseable so you ended up with some AMD motherboard with thunderbolt which while not perfect was better than the USB 3.2 of the time. No one is going to make an open standard so I'll take a licensable standard over no standard.

Usually the company that puts their standard out for the others to use, even so much as open source, that company usually sticks around for a long time, does well financially and is well liked by the community and other competitors
