Firing at a ballistic mask from 15m away and calling it useless is such a cop-out. It managed to dramatically reduce the force even at such a ridiculously close range with seriously powerful firearms. The difference weapon to weapon:

Fal: Round cleanly passing through the skull, obliterating the face and passing into the next man, versus causing severe blunt force trauma to the face. It's now at least survivable and the patient is in a condition to be operable on.

Shotgun with fletchettes passing clear through your head, scrambling your face and brains like porridge versus majority of fletchettes stopped bar two, unable to penetrate past 2 inches of facial tissue, severe facial disfigurement and cracked vertebrae but survivable some of time

Shotgun with slugs or a 45 cal pistol would cause partial or total obliteration of head, guaranteed death. The fact the mask was able to dramatically distribute force to the point the skull shape and part of face was fully intact was quite amazing. Still results in death at that range but:

If you're in combat and the enemy is 200-500 metres away (over 70% of modern firearms combat) then the ballistic mask isn't just going to save your life, it might just save you from looking like Simo Hayha...

What an idiot...I mean, is anyone really taking this review seriously? Try shooting any modern combat helmet with a .45 magnum or a shotgun slug from 15m away...the mask does what it's intended to do.

Also, he failed to mention that the mask has already seen a great deal of use with police forces. The mask works really well stopping 9mm from say an mp5 or uzi, making it good for suburban police use...and it stop higher caliber rounds from killing you at 150-200m+

Chinese face armor fail.

They look cheaply made, it's a larp and a scam. There should be no deformation from the .22 and if even an iPhone can stop a 9mm then anyone should be able to make a facemask to stop one.

The middle of the mask from top to bottom should be like an axe 🪓 head where the bullets would ricocheted on either side of the face mask in angle of deflection. Problem would be the people near you would get injured or worse.

ya im going to stand by my former notion that this face armor plate is more or less used as a fear factor since we can clearly see it can't protect you that much not even from a .22 holopoint.

The point of this is to actually trick soldiers into a sense of security, giving them more confidence. Definitely not to scare the enemy.

You would think companies would just make helmets that Encompass your whole head or the very least helmets would front-facing ballistics masks attached

I feel like these test are doing from too close. I read the army trains shooting at 300m as the average firefight distance. A bullet can still pierce soft skin at 300m but maybe not the balistic mask

If it really is rated to stop a 44. Magnum, do you guys know at what range? from what I can see point black getting shot with anything below 44. is just gonna straight up kill the wearer or knock them out with serious injury, and at 44. death due to severe blunt trauma. And have you carefully sourced the masks so they are not some knock of version (not that I believe they are, but just in case).

These are great for shrapnel, but don't expect the melon to survive lol.

So a 9mm is survivable but you’ll need facial reconstruction for a 45 and a coroner for anything above

If it can deflect a .50 cal at close range, it can stop shrapnel from an explosive or explosive round with no issue.

Also wearing one of these turns any gunshot into mostly superficial (dependent on caliber) blunt force trauma, which drastically increases chance of survival from a headshot by localizing brain damage and bleeding. If you did survive and regain consciousness, you'd have little to no quality of life. But it did save you.
