when i got to my teen years i still wanst allowed to play rated m games............. and i had no friends to play them at there house ether.................
ОтветитьThe FIRST console I ever played was a PS2 Slim and my second was the original PS3 (the one with a load of ports). I'll never forget being in grade school playing dead island and skyrim with my cousin and siblings
ОтветитьThe PS3 was my favorite back when it came out. Never doubted it.
ОтветитьXbox 360 was popular but it was cringe. PS3 had everything right. The aesthetic, the pure playstation maturity that you feel using the console and looking at it. Sony always makes their consoles feel expensive. People talking in game voice chat to their friends. Free online. No pay to win. This was real gaming.
ОтветитьPs3 in 2023 it looks like ps5😅
ОтветитьI did not like the PS3 whatsoever. I only have like four games on it too
ОтветитьFor me it's really just the games. I dont care about backcompat since I also hage a PS2, so I bought the cheapest Super Slim model to play all exclusives that are still stuck on PS3, and also all the seventh gen games that I missed as I was a PC gamer back then.
The PS3 had a great catalog of exclusive first, second, and third-party games that the 360 couldn't match.
Same situation here, Late 20s now, started with PS1 but also went back to SNES/Genisis (also N64) through family/friends before PS2 in Primary School then PS3/360/Wii in High School (every system/handheld since I've also owned but purchased myself of course) I also owned every Nintendo Handheld and their respective Revisions throughout as well as PSP/PSVita (which of course I preferred)
Point is... I love the PS3 and it definitely had a huge role throughout my High School days and I got and played WAY MORE games than on PS2 (and especially PS1) but I mean nothing, NOTHING will ever beat the PlayStation 2 imo especially because of JAK & RATCHET (Ratchet did continue on PS3, but besides Crack In Time, they were all technically worse than the PS2 entries I think)
The PS3 definitely opened my eyes and heart to many more genres and big franchises, but a lot of said franchises (and basically anything Japan that I started getting into after High School but prior to PS4/Xbone Launch) were often started and usually had their best entries back on PS2 anyway 🤷♂️ Yakuza, Persona, Devil May Cry, Burnout, Need For Speed, Grand Theft Auto and Sony's 1st/2nd Party Output etc. etc. all had their best entries on PS2 imo plus so many more games and series that would take me a day and half to remember and write up here.
PS3 and the movie Fight Club! Misunderstood and not-so-appreciated back then, but look at them now! 🤌🏻
ОтветитьIt's a great system and playstation move is underrated. Kinda wish we could play psvr games without the headset and just use the move controllers like the ps3.
ОтветитьJAILBREAK JAILBREAK JAILBREAK
ОтветитьI got my ps3 at the tail end of its life cycle because when it was released in our country it almost cost $1000 for the phat version
Ответитьsuch a dope console. i just got my first one ever and hope to keep it a long time. the games are fairly cheap and finding these things used is not difficult at all. super excited to exspand my gaming library.
ОтветитьPlus, try playing Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5, then play Gran Turismo 5 on the ps3. It's incomparable.
ОтветитьI can understand when it came out, but the system itself didn't work well compared to the Xbox 360 with the power difference, just like the ps5 and the Xbox series x, except it's the Xbox this time around, where the power didn't cover everything. Ps3 was kinda in that boat. The best thing then was the games, not the hardware. And the free online like it should be anyway on all consoles.
ОтветитьI don’t know what it is but I really enjoy collecting ps3 games more than any other console I have, it’s so fun!
Ответитьi would love a modded ps3 controller , pretty much the ps3 controller inside of a ps4 / ps5 controller. either that or they finally let you use the home button on a official ps4 /ps5 controller while playing the ps3.
ОтветитьMy PS3 wasn't working 3 years ago and instead of getting it repaired I just shelved it and continued to play the 360, Switch and now the PS5. Never sold my PS3 games because they hold a special place in my heart. There are so many great titles on the console. I even own titles that you can't get on PS online or remastered releases.
A few weeks ago I decided to fix the PS3 myself. Didn't know whether it the dust, the fan or the disc laser (which could need replacing). I ordered a console security screw driver that can open the console up. It was an absolute mess. 12 years of collected dust. Oh boy I have not been good to by son.
I eventually cleaned it. Top to bottom with WD-40, a mini vac, wet wipes, and finished it off with an air duster spray. Put it back together again and tested it out with Infamous 2. It worked and I honestly almost cried. Not just because I can play my PS3 games again but because I did it all myself. I got 56 PS3 physical titles awaiting me and I couldn't be happier.
I wish they woulda allowed an external hard drive. I woulda had so many more games
ОтветитьPS3 I felt was Sony s most disappointing console. There are a few gems but the frame rates were terrible on most games. The 360 was a better gaming machine for that gen.
ОтветитьPS3 Was popular asf in New Zealand. I remember seeing GTA 4 and Fallout 3 for the first time. It was a massive upgrade from San Andreas
ОтветитьFree online. That sold it
ОтветитьBuying a PS3 around the time this video was uploaded, i can see the love for the ps3 even early on while sony was acting cocky. Having a 1st gen ps3 is still a baller thing to have in 2023: im sure you can softmod it with the SDD slot, but it also the ps3 that can play ps1 and ps2 games. And being able to play the first 3 generations of playstation in an HDMI format is great. Hopefully more people can see more potential with the first gens even if theyre more bulky
ОтветитьI grew up on ps3 and started playing some of my favorite games like fallout new vegas, call of duty black ops 2, lord of the rings conquest, Minecraft and more. I now own a ps5 and stopped playing my ps4 after it basically took a crap. But I still very often go back and play ps3.
ОтветитьFor me I loved the DS and Wii and LEGO Star Wars on the computer those were my console's I Got a Wii U for my 16th Birthday in 2015 I bought myself a PS4 when I Graduated high school in 2019 my friend Gave me his original Xbox from 2001 and last year I bought myself a PS5 and I bought myself a PS3 a few Day's ago
Ответитьyou confused me with asking for a sequel to resistance.... there are 3 on the ps3 and one on the psp.
ОтветитьMan I always loved PS3... always...
Ответитьim born in 2000 i first started whit ps2 a bit and got over to xbox 360il never forgot the days i had whit the xbox 360 era. nowdays im using ps2 more and more use ps3 also i have almost not used my ps5. but now that i am turning 23 i almost cant enjoy games annymore and miss the times i had when i were smaller. i youst bought my self silent hill 2 on ps2 cant wait to play it. and been playing bleach on ps3
ОтветитьI love my PS3 so much. If there comes a time when I decide to pass my PS3 along to someone, it'll have to be someone who appreciates the system for what it is. I wouldn't sell it to anyone just for the money. That's not good enough. As a true lover of the PS3 system, I would want to make sure that the system is being taken well-care of when I'm done gaming for good.
Ответитьi love the ps3 but let s be real , it s the least reliable console ever , so i doubt it ll ever be everyone's favourite
ОтветитьI still have my PS3. Loud and proud.
ОтветитьI don't know. I think its the weakest of the first three Playstations. Obviously it being newer it looks much better, but I don't think its libraries can compete with the PS1 or the PS2.
ОтветитьGen x here, you whippersnappers dont know what you missed out on lol
ОтветитьDead accurate with the gen z growing up on 360 and ps3 i am 19 and although i grew up playing ps2 at first i got an Xbox 360 in 2011 and that changed my life
Ответитьps3 has party chat like 360 it’s gg but.. i’m a solo player and i like single player so.. ps3 for me also free online
ОтветитьWhat do you mean console life cycle is 4 years lol since when? Console cycles that short at eonly failed consoles like wii-u and Dreamcast... Most console life cycles are 7-10 years as cuure tly games are still coming to PS4 and Xbox one....
ОтветитьThe ps3 was the peak of gaming for me. It was my highschool and middle school console and i remember getting bullied by my friends cus they wanted me to get x360 like everyone else but i would just make fun of xbox for being inferior tech...yep good virgin times..
ОтветитьFun fact, millennials go back to the mid 1980s. Lot of 80s babies out there considered millennials.
ОтветитьI was 12 when the original playstation launched so that was more my teen years. I feel the PS3 was the biggest jump and that's why it's so popular now. PS1 played your CDs and let you save games. Ps2 added DVD playback, more advanced gaming, PS1 compatibility and still CD support. Some online adaptors and a few hd games. Then came the beast: plays PS1,PS2 and 3 (on first models at least) CD playback and rip ability. Built in hard drives replacing memory cards. Blu ray and DVD playback. Online stores with apps and a browser. USB support and wireless controller. Full hd gaming. Then came PS4, which to me was disappointing. It plays PS4, others digital only. Upgrade to 1080p resolution. Pretty much the same as PS3 with some sensor difference in the controller. PS5 added 4k but is mostly about 8k and high frame rate gaming which not all of us have. Also it's worth mentioning I think the price tag tinted the PS3s early popularity. I saw the E3 on tv that year there was wild applause for the system then when they announced the price it got so quiet you could hear an ant crawl. People where shocked/surprised/horrified
ОтветитьA massive boost in interest was the possibility to jailbreak the system.
At that point in time anyone wanted a PS3 and it's the primary reason people buy the ps3 today.
Warhawk: knives only.
ОтветитьI think ps3 should still full support, and psp should have partial support like ps 3 today
Ответитьit was my first sony console
ОтветитьNever forget the people who played offline weather they where younger or not a fan of the multiplayer scene. CoD is not for every one and games like Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted and InFamous really do help set the system for a solid long term offline liberty. Personally I have had a ps3 since the slim was out around 2009 and have never played Call of Duty. I picked up games that did not use first person or gritty war themes.
ОтветитьI have never seen so many commercials in my life. How are there 14 commercials in a sub 15min video? Unfortunately, this was painful and not worth it in the end.
ОтветитьDuring the 7th gen days I like many others also bought a 360 due to the PS3 being too expensive, but I heavily followed all the news for it during those days, everything from new games, new features, all that good stuff. It wasn't until around Dec 2018 that I had finally gotten my hands on a PS3 for $50 (CECHL01 model) and could finally enjoy all the games I wanted to play growing up, and of course also replay the PS2 games i grew up with that got the HD Remaster treatment and not once have I had a bad time with it, which is more than i can say for my 360 nowadays lmao.
ОтветитьWhat's crazy is all my ps3 have the games on them. I can play them whenever I want. Same for early ps4 games now , the disc is meaningless. If you lived offline for a year , ps3 has no problem meeting your entertainment expectations. Most ps4 games refuse to even launch ( if the full game is on disc) without some kind of internet connection.
ОтветитьI only liked the ps3 because of fallout 3
ОтветитьI bought my ps3 a year ago and I love it readin I bought it is bc I used to have a old one but it broke
Ответить
