So, what i understand from this scene Is that
-Rowat is William's child because she says that she wanted to say about the pregnancy after the war, so she was already pregnant before William left
-Vera tried to slap her husband because he doubted about his paternity
-Vera cheated William and for this reason she Is not able to explain that the baby is of him because she Is not able to explain her betrayal

Interestingly enough Vera & Dylan had already began an emotional affair while she simultaneously became bff with Dylan's wife. My question is why did Vera entertain William when she was already beginning her affair with Dylan? I will never understand this about cheaters. Just stay single. It was war time. People would've understood 🙄

Vera was afraid to love anyone in the beginning of the movie yes she might've slept with Dylan but that was before she meant William and Dylan only used her to cheat on his wife infact dylan and his wife where cheating on each other and vera said if William came back from the war she would say that she loved him and guess what when he has his ptsd break down and hits vera she still chose William not Dylan and she even says i love you to him afterwards she ends up breaking it off with dylan because even when William was at war and didn't get letters she knew the baby was Williams and she didn't want to get an abortion what does that tell u people that are calling vera a cheater and saying that shes in the wrong dylan cheated on his wife continually
