I'm watching this and shaking my head. They're acting like this is some grand accomplishment, when it's actually just a Publicity Stunt. Wrong Plane, Wrong Pilot, Wrong Skill Set. A typical Bush Pilot can take off and land in less distance than their wingspan. The STOL World Record is 9' 5" landing, A typical competition takeoff is 8' or less.

Looks cool. However, I guess he was never in real danger. If he had overshot the helipad on landing, he would have dropped the nose, picked up speed and levelled out, just as he did during his take off.

Rolling off the edge? You can dial down the hyperbole, it was airborne before it got to the edge.

Just curious. Was there a tail hook on that aircraft? Saw something sticking out but you flipped the camera angle to the cockpit just as anyone could fully see it.
