Glad I watched this Don (I just started using this distro), picked up the screenshot built-in app which makes Flameshot an option rather than a necessity. Btw do you still use snap/snapd for packages management like when you did for version 20.10 or others now? what do you suggest? Thanks!
ОтветитьHi subbed👍
Ответить@NovaspiritTech i think there is a spam going aorund..please do something about it
Ответитьnot a biggie but you missed the updates to power management profiles, plus other abilities to that making it better for laptops and checking battery life.
ОтветитьGreat review - I installed this on RPi 4 last night - it is fast!!!
ОтветитьDoes anyone have the problem with sleep mode for laptop? I mean when I close the lid of my laptop and want to use it again, it wont start :c. That's the only reason I'm not using Ubuntu because whenever that happens I got to restart the laptop by pressing the power button I lost everything I was working with
Ответитьyou do know you only have to type Ext in software centre search and it will come up. Also the new extension app is good but it still worth looking at the browser side extension because many of the old extension will not be in 42 and there is other to replace them which work better. This is why I love fedora and their basic Gnome starting point because you learn how Gnome works without all the Ubuntu set crap which like with POP destroys most of the gnome work flow trying to keep hold of the Ex windows folk that can't live with out desktop icons and a full screen dock of task bar clone panel. When if that is the case maybe they should just move to KDE and its more traditional desktop layout. I have just placed a hot side at the bottom which if I go to the bottom and just left click I get overview and right brings up the app menu. Works better with horizontal workspace switching. Blur my shell has had a big update and is less buggy.
ОтветитьExtensions manager is not installed by default lol even Debian included it in the gnome meta package idk what Cannonical was thinking
ОтветитьI actually love that you can have the dock extend from edge to edge or have it as a floating dock. 22.04 was really good in my test looking forward to the final release.
ОтветитьI have all of the ubuntu 22.04 flavors in VMs where I've been monitoring the development. I noticed yesterday that after the update to the Ubuntu 22.04 RC, I had to reset my display settings. It turned out to be because it had changed from Wayland to X11 after updating, so it looks like Wayland won't be the default on the official release next week. I don't care for Ubuntu, because I just don't like the limitations of Gnome. But Ubuntu is an excellent base. I highly recommend Xubuntu, Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu-Budgie, and Ubuntu-Mate for fans of those respective desktops. Just be aware that in 22.04, all of them are using some snap packages now. If you're a Cinnamon fan like myself, I recommend Xubuntu with Cinnamon added on. Works excellent. For some reason, I like Xubuntu-Cinnamon better than Ubuntu-Cinnamon Remix or Linux Mint. That's said, I'm actually a Debian Sid and ArcoLinux user most of the time. Enjoyed the video.
ОтветитьStill too much zooming icons and windows on Gnome for me... Cinnamon is Gnome done right, in my opinion.
Ответить👍
ОтветитьIntel Celeron?
ОтветитьCan we install Netflix in this version Ubuntu?
ОтветитьYou put the question "is theming dead?" And then say nothing about it 🤯
ОтветитьI installed it on my mbp2012. App drawer icons are too small. I tried to google it and couldn't find anything. Very annoying. Please help. Thanks
Ответить22.04 already have the dash to panel integrated. Very stable and fast. I use it for 2 weeks.
ОтветитьThe ability to add printers is not new.
ОтветитьThanks for your review. I don't know but I feel Gnome has more clutter than before. they're aiming for simplicity I think but still I feel the opposite thing when I use it. believe it or not, XFCE for example is so simple yet so customizable and powerful, and I don't get confused with too many things.
add above that Ubuntu Snaps will make things worse for me.
I appreciate developers work but I'm gonna pass on this one.
I love your shelf
ОтветитьNice!!! I use Ventooy too. Its a super easy tool to use to repair and test iso
ОтветитьI would delete that background it looks like a dick..... if anyone else cant see that then they r woke...... hahahahaha
ОтветитьWould love to see you make another guide on installing ROCm-OpenCL on 22.04. As of today it's v5.1.1 and the installation setup has changed quite a lot. I managed to installed it on my 22.04-dev system but it was a pain in the ass.
ОтветитьOne can only hope that the whole desktop extremist theming and animation thing is dead.
ОтветитьHm, I have to try it out and see if it still have X11 server. Need that for running Emacs as a window manager.
Ответитьso, nothing exciting.
ОтветитьWhy am I watching a video on Ubuntu when I use Arch 💀
Ответитьdo you have a plan to review Dot 1 Mini PC? just asking 😉
ОтветитьI stick to the LTS releases, so it looks like it'll be upgrade time for me soon!
I use Xubuntu, so it'll probably be some weeks behind Ubuntu's release.
When you hibernate ubuntu, it stores the content in the ram to the swap space. So you can go to advanced partitioning while installing ubuntu and set the swap size as you want.
ОтветитьYou lost me at "OOBANTOO"...
ОтветитьBeyond the background, Ubuntu still lacks branding on the desktop. That little Apple, or Windows logo, in the corner of the screen will tell you you are using said OSs. The Ubuntu logo (perhaps in place if the apps logo) would add to the Ubuntu identity in my opinion.
ОтветитьYet another gnome release where the extensions have to be reworked to also support the new DE. UGH...
ОтветитьPersonally I hate Ubuntu themes…
ОтветитьOver time, I have slowly grown to dislike Ubuntu less than I used to. I use it because of support by just about everyone. Thanks for your clear, well-organized video!
ОтветитьMy only problem with Ubuntu right now is that the default Firefox it ships with is a snap package. Coming on to Ubuntu from Arch, I always faced bugs when using the Ubuntu Firefox, so I just typically remove the snap version and just install Firefox through apt
ОтветитьGood Gowd, I detest Ubuntu.
ОтветитьUbuntu is still the only major distro that installs onto LVM, including root in an LVM volume, and actually boots without faffing around.
(Ok I haven’t tried for about a year because I’m sick of the disappointment)
Keep killing the gnome desktop, slowly, we won't stop an awful development team from making mistakes. Even the Pop!OS devs are sick of Gnome's BS.
ОтветитьI hate that the title bars are sooo thick. Installed kubuntu 2 years ago never looked back. Hard pass on gnome.
