I think I was age 14 when I bought this album.. Was Absolutely obsessed.. Knew every word.. I've just downloaded it again, and play alot... The downfall is when I ask those around "do u like it"? No-one does, 🙄totally uncool..

It hit me how pertinent this is after hearing a particularly relentless barrage of non-stop GAS-lighting from...well, everybody, today, so I had the urge to hear it. I thought back to when I used to see Bebe Buell do this with The Gargoyles back in the 80's before the Furs recorded it. I LOVED her punk attitude when she performed it. Then one day I was in a used record store and heard it being played over the sound system and I could tell immediately it was produced by Todd. It had just been released and the eeriness was so intense...of course I bought it immediately, like ANYTHING Todd ever produced. I met Richard Butler once before that when I was backstage hanging out with Bebe, and it's kind of a haze...I was so drunk I couldn't see. I didn't know they were dating or that he wrote it, and I apologized for talking so much about Todd earlier, I had even given her a drawing of Todd to give to him. AWKWARD!!! But, they said it was O.K., he didn't give a shit...nice "bloke", he was...but, seriously, I was so embarrassed, but it's pretty cool Todd ended up eventually working with him, so I guess there was no tension there (apparently). I wish I had a recording of Bebe doing it live...maybe one exists somewhere, I'll have to check. Anyway, a TIMELESS tune, still sounds incredible...is anyone reading this? I hope Bebe isn't...I should delete it.
