I have a question, why are the cool down phase not added in the formula? I thought everything should be included to have 100%? Do I just add the recommended usage rate and deduct from the distilled water?

I’m new to soap making…..

Question: I made coffee hot process soap with instant coffee (I’ve made hot process before but this is my first time using coffee). My lye solution was premixed already (I purchased it this way) so I put the coffee in the oil (4 tablespoons) with the extra water the recipe called for. The recipe is one that I have used for cold press soap. It looks amazing but has a fishy smell to me. I didn’t use any fragrance in it. What can I do to fix it.

It's pronounced "Boom Boom". 💕

The key ingredient in the real bum bum cream is the added caffeine. It’s the caffeine that is supposed to tighten and firm the skin. I’m not sure why is wasn’t included in the recipe or the kit. They do sell a caffeine extract that is water soluble and I assume coukd then be added in the water phase. Correct?

I love how creamy this looks. I love how you pronounce it as it’s printed. I’ve always called it Bum Bum, if that isn’t what they intended, they could have spelled it correctly. I’m definitely going to give it a go 🥰 thanks for sharing.

Hi Ellen this send like a good beginner kit but if if makers are going to purchase the ingredients to dupe the may want to add a humectant and i believe the original formula has caffeine extract and cetyl alcohol as the thickener. ❤

Hello Ellen, I live in New York I’m a beginner in soap making, if you know a license and laboratory testing are required to sell handmade soaps.

I made this today and it is a beautiful cream. I did find that the carrot seed oil has an slightly strong smell and Im hoping this settles as it cools. It didn't have the same yellowish colour as yours unfortunately, and turned out a little off white. Hopefully the scent will improve as the carrot oil smell settles. time will tell. Thank you for this fabulous recipe.
